His aids said they are protecting him and not allowing MP' into his office. His rallies are arranged so he doesn!t have to cope with hecklers, even when a reporter approached him to ask a a question his aids hustled him away. Little point in complaining the decision to put a date line for voters, Corbyn tried to stop a secret ballot, was that democratic ? He hasn't taken part in one to debate with other MP's and threatening the NEC with a legal fight wasn't Democracy as set out by the Labour Party which he claims to care about whilst ripping apart

I can't really see how Corbyn is protected. Quite the opposite, considering all the attacks he has had to endure from the PLP. Clearly he is defended by his supporters within the Labour movement but that's only to be expected. The thing that disgusts me the most is the way the decision to bar anyone who joined in the last 6 months from voting in the leadership contest was taken after Corbyn left the room. How old are these people? 5? It's the politics of the playground...and not very democratic either.

I find it so hard to understand the objection to a private ballot . And am also questioning his refusal to leave the room for the members to have a private conversation, he did eventually but if he couldn't defend that female MP because he wasn't the chairman why not accept a request from the chair of the NEC

Devorgilla, thank you. My knowledge of Corbyn was based on attending miners galas, anti war rallies, I was stupid , because I am a pacifist I assume he was too, how can he be a true pacifist and remain silent on bullying and even he even attempted to bully to stop the right to a secret ballot.

I agreed with him on inviting Sin Fein MP's to the commons , this too made me believe he was a man of principle and yes talk and listen to Hamas I thought was right too, there needs to be talking, ,listening and understanding in the world but this should be extended to all.

Anniebach, I am so sorry that you were disappointed in putting your faith in JC. I know you voted for him because he claimed he wanted to bring in a new kind of politics. I did not vote for him, nor would I ever because I knew him and of him in a much younger incarnation. It is the way he operates. I was very moved to see the real distress of that female MP on TV. She could scarcely speak she was so upset by it all. That is not democracy, it is intimidation. I cannot believe that a Labour leader would PREVENT a secret ballot. Our forefathers and mothers fought hard enough to get it through Parliament so that the workers would not be intimidated.
Yes, AGMs have been suspended across the country to ensure democracy takes place. If you read the Brighton AGM reports you will see how it was packed to ensure the 'right' people got elected, ousting people who have given lifelong service to the party.
I hope this time we fight this to the bitter end even if the party splits. I too remember the 1980s.

Anniebach, I may not have posted on this thread but I share your feelings about the 1983 election and the years that followed. I was a real believer in Michael Foot but I have never seen Jeremy Corbyn as someone with the integrity that Foot had. My fear when he won the leadership was that we were going back to the 80's. I left the Labour Party because of the bullying power plays by the militant tendency. I cheered Kinnock's speech about a Labour council delivering redundancy notices by taxi. Kinnock didn't win elections but he gave his heart to helping the labour party recover.
I don't believe that comparisons with Glenys Kinnock opposing those bullies, forcefully, and Winnie Mandela's necklace killers is in any way appropriate.

Iam, I received a mail yesterday , no meetings until after the leadership results. I don't know if this is across the country or only Welsh labour, I will telephone the Senydd later . I am really distressed by all this , I detest bullying , I have said over and over about the 1983 election and the wilderness years which followed, only two have referred to it, trisher who dismissed it as in the past and Eleothan who mocked Kinnock, well I witnessed first hand the brutality and lies of the press who were against Michael Foot, he was on the left but no bully and no hiding behind closed office doors . And then Eleothan mocked Kinnock who fought militancy and brought the party thought the dark years. Support your MP Iam, if he is a good MP for his constituency he deserves support.

I was at that Labour Conference when Kinnock was sorting out those Councillors from Liverpool, but I also saw his wife and her gang surround the said Councillors and alot of nasty words were spoken, reminded me of winnie and her soccer team in SA.

Sorry but for me nothing can excuse Corbyns behaviour at the NEC meeting , how could he come out after the meeting and talk as he did when he had fought against a secret ballot , why not secret ballot, only reason was he wanted to know who voted in his favour and who didn't , this was so controlling .

Hello there Anniebach - I sat watching Theresa May make her speech outside Downing Street, looking like she's the Prime Minister and saying things I wanted to hear. Meanwhile, the news from the Labour camp continues to get worse. Just when you fear it's hit an all time low, more dreadful news emerges. I watched the interview with Johanna Baxter and the MP for Ashton under Lyne with increasing disbelief. Johanna was clearly distraught and frightened. Her description of the way Jeremy's supporters attempted to intimidate, bully and terrorise people into voting their way was dreadful. She did vote for him to be on the ballot paper but pleaded with him to ensure that NEC members personal details weren't released and for him to step in and stop the intimidation. It seems he did nothing.
I didn't know that CLP/branch meetings had been suspended until after the leadership election. If its across the country, no doubt emails will be arriving today. Disgusting disgraceful and demoralising. My own MP is being threatened with deselection. He's represented us for about 20 years, before which we were tory. He's a good MP but finally joined the other 170 who expressed no confidence in the leadership. The Labour Party is being murdered by Jeremy and John McDonnell with help from Dianne Abbot and their merry gang of bullies.

Personally, for me, a person who calls Hamas etc "friends", in whatever manner and way it was said, needed serious attention to his ways, motives and thoughts. It was rather obvious just from that, how he viewed some things in life.
