Beginning to distrust Jeremy Corbyn

Jess Phillips doesn't appear to be either corrupt or dishonest night owl. She seems from all I've read and heard, to be an excellent MP who works extremely hard.
I am genuinely concerned that 80% of the MP's who work with JC and therefore know him well, voted no confidence in him. I don't believe that JC and his supporters have all the integrity and the 80% all have none. We're in a very sad place as Labour/left leaning people. There don't appear to be any easy solutions because I don't see threatening 80% of mainly good, hard working Labour MP's (who have integrity) with de-selection is good for the party.

Did anybody hear Jrss Phillips on Radio 4 yesterday (World at One)?

The question that should be asked is why Labour MPs feel they are able to overrule the views of the party membership. Surely it is unlikely they will be deselected if their local Labour party continue to support them?

Jess Phillips is the woman I heard interviewed a few months ago who said, laughing, that when Diane Abbott approached her to talk to her she told her to "fuck off". The interviewer, also seemingly finding this amusing, asked what Diane Abbott's reaction was and Jess Phillips, chuckling, said "She fucked off". But apparently it's only John McDonnell that gets castigated for using bad language.

As I understand it, it is quite possible to find the sender of these sorts of threats - and several people have been prosecuted for this sort of behaviour. I assume action is being taken to identify these people and, if not, why not?

I believe lots of MPs, of all political colours, are receiving such threats but Corbyn has said that if any such threats emanate from people who purport to be his supporters, he absolutely condemns it. At the BAME rally I attended on Monday, he again emphasized this. What else is he supposed to do Iam64? Anyway, who on earth in their right mind would want "supporters" like this - apart from it being repugnant, it's handing his opponents a gift.

I see that you have nothing to say about the behaviour of the Lambeth councillors.

I'm not saying Jess Phillips is corrupt or dishonest Iam, I know very little about her. I was referring to those councillors who are canvassing for anyone to join the party simply to vote against Jeremy Corbyn.

The question is why for the first time we have a leader who the majorrity of labour MP's cannot support

A man who asked MP's to get behind him yet not only voted over 500 times against his leaders but who led a campaign to get expelled Militants back into the party in full knowledge of the damaged they had done to the party and the country

I do think that using emails like that is probably illegal. I seem to recall UKIP and the Tories were taken to court over it and told to stop by the electoral commission.
Not sure if this election comes under the electoral commission as it is supposed to be internal.

For your information, Annie, I do not trawl the internet looking for far left links to support Corbyn.
This reporter lives in the borough of Lambeth. He is not labour, has never voted labour, but gets sickened by the bias against Corbyn in the media, as do I and fortunately some others on here.

Mann has said that Jess Phillips is a breath of fresh air, and could be the next labour leader. That sounds pretty desperate to me. She's only been an MP for a year.

Integrity ? Accused of anti semitism. Brings in someone to hold an independent enquiry - who joined the party at the same time- cleared the anti semitism allegations and then was appointed to the lords which she and her leader are sooo against

Annie, I think Corbyn does have integrity.
In this parliament he has only once voted against the party, and that was on Trident. That shows integrity.

Strangely enough, Jess Phillips left the labour party because of Blair and only came back in 2010, like some others on here.

You accuse us of wanting Militant back. Is there such a group still? I do not know, not being in on the machinations of the party. Isn't that harking back thirty years, as you accuse Corbyn supporters of doing? My local party seem quite normal people, not a militant among them as far as I can see.
It's the labour party, for heavens sake. Nobody should be cast out into darkest hell for eternity just because they once disagreed with policy, just as you are now.
Corbyn was chosen as leader after the party lost two elections.
He still is the leader.
You say he will be the leader after the election.
So what then?

Anniebach I notice you have hardly addressed the issue of the Lambeth councillors abusing their position, other than to suggest that it is probably OK for them to "canvass" in this way. Would you take the same magnanimous approach if Labour councillors supportive of Corbyn did this?

As corbynites here ignored Corbyn's campaign to get expelled militants back into the party. Best you don't attempt to set the agenda on what should be discussed and what should be ignored Eleothan .

Meant to ask you, the rally you attended a few days ago, you said there were Jews there, how do you know they were Jews , how to you know they are not like the leader of Momentum atheists , so do not practice their faith and did you read the Jewish Cronicle after Corbyn appointed Shami to the lords?

No, I wouldn't do either, but I don't think it double standards to take care what one says and where they say it. Rather like burping in the home and letting rip in public

Is it possible that the email accounts of those councillors had been hacked?
We occasionally receive very odd emails urging us to follow a link, join an organisation etc, from known friends. It turns out their accounts have been hacked and emails sent out to anyone they have ever been in contact with

If thry emails are genuine why haven't .momentum started a campaign to get rid of them

Obieone, potential labour voters and Labour members, not the general,public. Corbyn will win the leadership election . Polls show labour 14 to 16 points behind conservatives which if correct mean the conservatives will win the next election with a much larger majority. I can not state the following as the truth just repeating what I heard from someone who works in Westminster - not an MP- labour are on course to hold onto about fifty two seats at the next election

obieone In fact the mainstream media is saying polls suggest that the "ordinary voter" will not vote for Corbyn, but that there is a majority of Labour members who would.

Interestingly, I think it was in March this year that on the One Show Giles Brandreth asked people in Guildford (a Conservative stronghold) whether they agreed with a number of statements he put to them. The vast majority agreed with the statements. When he revealed that all the statements had come from Corbyn and presented them with a photo of Corbyn they recoiled in horror - perhaps indicative of the deluge of negative coverage given to Corbyn. Recent research by Birkbeck University, which over a period of 10 days analysed several hundred articles and TV news items/commentaries, revealed that double the air time was given to sources critical of Corbyn.

I don't know if it's just me - I don't watch much TV, so often miss the main news - but it seems to me that Corbyn (or at least his policies) seem to be getting more air time and more coverage in the MSM.

It seems to me that there's a much clearer focus on what he wants to achieve, eg. renationalisation of the railways, 'wrap round' education, protecting the NHS. These are issues people care about. I haven't seen much about how they would be funded, but it's a step in the right direction.
