Traingate

The silliest thing about the Corbyn "Traingate" fiasco is that before the railways were privatised, I often had to sit on the floor toing and froing between Preston and Edinburgh. Sometimes there was no buffet car. And the toilets were often disgusting.

I guess Corbyn didn't travel by train much back then hmm

However, the trains I travelled on usually had more space for luggage than current Virgin trains.

X post - makes it sound as if I am saying that Diane Abbott swears like a trouper grin
I meant she sent her son to private school.

Whether she swears or not I do not know.

Jalima Sat 27-Aug-16 15:04:14

Well, at least Jeremy stuck to his principles and refused to allow his son to go to grammar school.
However, his then wife, mother of the boy, got round the problem by divorcing Jeremy and sent their son to the grammar school.

Perhaps Jeremy hated his school so is against all grammar schools. Or perhaps his mother was never there for him because she taught in a grammar school too.

Who knows what forms people's views and politics?

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 15:03:50

Yeah. Diane Abbott is another one. Needs the old carbolic soap.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 15:03:01

Don't report me for my lying ways, please annie!

Jalima Sat 27-Aug-16 15:02:00

and Diane Abbott
hmm

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 15:01:59

That anniebach swears like a trooper. All the time.

She is very norty.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 14:59:24

I have got a Co-op near me, but I don't go there much now because Mr Ocado brings my shopping to me. He is coming this evening between seven and eight.

nigglynellie Sat 27-Aug-16 14:57:45

Theresa May is a Tory, so no surprise at her attitude to education. But for someone on the far left to take advantage of a fee paying school? Surely not!!!! Don't do as I do etc? Again, surely not!!! I seem to remember Paul Boeting (spelling?) running up against the same problem. Very strange! dare I say hypocritical?!

Jalima Sat 27-Aug-16 14:52:17

I used to like the Co-op, lots of Fairtrade food but we don't have one near here.

Jalima Sat 27-Aug-16 14:50:52

I know nothing of Islington, they must have a co-op there because Diane Abbot said when they holidayed he would only shop in the Co-op.

Not sure, DD used to live in Islington/Camden, but she escaped.
She probably had to live on bread and jam when she lived there, it was very expensive.

I don't remember Anniebach using the F word, and if she did it was probably a spelling mistake grin

Ana Sat 27-Aug-16 14:32:04

I can't recall Annie ever having sworn on GN...hmm

durhamjen Sat 27-Aug-16 14:29:52

You know someone with a son at Eton, Annie? Surely not.

durhamjen Sat 27-Aug-16 14:28:33

Have you had your letter from the Labour Party to say you've lost your membership yet, Annie?
Some members are losing theirs for using the 'f' word, and you've done that quite a few times. One woman lost hers for saying she f...ing loved the Foo Fighters.
They are obviously not looking at Gransnet yet.
Not sure if you can swear about Shami Chakrabarti, but I'm sure you will soon, the number of times you have posted about her.

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-16 13:59:43

Ooooh, Shami use to be in the SDP , obviously changed her political views , massive swing though from SDP to far left

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-16 13:54:25

Beam, perhaps Crabapple jam too

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-16 13:52:21

I was told by someone with a son at Eton that Shami tried to get her son into Eaton, surely not

Anniebach Sat 27-Aug-16 13:50:11

praise for Mrs May ?

durhamjen Sat 27-Aug-16 13:21:50

Nothing wrong with being concerned about the disparities between different students and their prospects in life.
After all that's what Theresa May wants to look into.

petra Sat 27-Aug-16 12:51:59

And the same Diane Abbot who's charity ' London Schools and Black Child' spent £29,000 of the charitys £35,000 budget for an event held at the Houses of Parliament.
But 12 children did share £2,000 in prizes.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 12:41:30

Yum!

Beammeupscottie Sat 27-Aug-16 12:36:40

I bet the jam is Raspberry

Beammeupscottie Sat 27-Aug-16 12:34:24

Is that the Diane Abbott who sent her son to a private school because it would give him an advantage in life? Probably rocked their little-love-in as Jezza is sooo anti-privilege having experienced a privileged upbringing himself. Nothing like the zeal of the middle-class converted.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 12:32:56

Someone take my mini iPad away.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 12:32:20

You can't hate someone who makes jam.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 27-Aug-16 12:31:31

He makes jam. Jeremy Corbyn.
