Well that was interesting. I should say Panarama was also enlightening but not as forceful and uncompromisingly direct in it's reporting content as Dispatches.

I'm not going to simply post on the Lib Dem Thread which has turned into a Labour Thread as I think this programme summed up exactly what I have thought and have been posting since the formation of Momentum , it is a ' Party within a Party.'

I will say now to those who will see it as propaganda and take umbrage at my post you cannot argue with what you see and hear from the horses mouth, no matter how hard you might try and no doubt will.

The fact Momentum are doing all they can to play down the Momentum name in connection to the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign , the use of the Unite Union office are significant, the way the reporter was paid is serious stuff and I hope there is further investigation into that. Will anybody take it up I wonder?.

Has anybody 'Cicked' on the ' Jeremy for Labour ' Campaign or answered questions on the phone in connection with it. The reason I ask is if you have you are, as I understood it, on the data base on the Jeremy For Labour Services?. Listen to what is said about it , you may not be too happy, or maybe you will of course.

There is to be fair a Momentum explanation and statement at the end of the programme but it is worth viewing to make your own mind up if you didn't catch it.

But Corbyn wants to change the way things are done.
Carwyn Jones now talking about legislating to prevent the use of agency workers to undermine action by workers.
Another good idea. He's also supporting Corbyn.

Interesting. Wales has lower unemployment than any other part of the UK. He puts it down to devolution.

It does make more sense in a way, because hopefully we can get experts talking about the subject, which will develop the debate and hold the government to book.

Of course traditionally we've always had shadow this that and the other, but there's no reason to continue like that if this works really well.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 16:31:29

Yvette Cooper has been talking about refugees ever since she went with Jo Cox to Calais. She talks from the front bench if she knows the subject is going to come up, but from the back bench, and with just the same authority, if it happens in another discussion.

Debates in parliament do not happen off the cuff, so it should be easy enough to get a team on any subject.
Even in their departments there is a team. I do not see why they cannot share departmental responsibility.

Andy MacDonald at the moment talking about how transport has become too detached from the idea of a public service.

?

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 16:21:23

How does that work the dj? Sounds OK. Are there any pitfalls?

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 16:19:47

sunshineflowers yah!!!!! Small beginnings.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 16:18:18

They probably do, trisher, but don't know what else to do to keep some semblance of power.

Actually, what Corbyn is doing now with them is probably a good idea. Rather than having departmental leaders, he is asking what they are interested in.
Everyone knows that Yvette Cooper is interested in refugees, and dealing with all questions to do with that.
Benn is going to deal with Brexit questions.
Teresa Pearce is in charge of housing questions.

They don't actually need the same people sitting on the front bench all the time. It's called unity.

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 16:16:27

I accept your hand of friendship whitewave and extend mine

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 16:10:56

The East coast mainline worked well in public ownership, so well that Virgin took it over last year.
It would be good to go back to that.

trisher Sun 25-Sept-16 16:09:17

So the PLP doesn't like Jeremy and stages a coup by all resigning from the Shadow cabinet, hoping he will go, but he doesn't. They then fail miserably to put up anyone as a candidate for leader who has a chance of winning, and Jeremy is re-elected with a larger majority. They then want to choose the shadow cabinet. Do they not understand that they are the main reason the Labour party is so low in the opinion polls? People don't like scheming and back stabbing.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 16:08:10

Are you trying to stir obi bit mean when I'm trying hard to hold out a hand of friendship to annie

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 16:06:53

No Obieone, we learn from history and hopefully do not make the same mistakes

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 16:06:45

I know a lot of commuters and they are desperate for nationalisation. The train service in this part of the world is attrocious and has been for years.

How about you annie? Come on meet us half waysmile

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 16:04:37

dont go back over the past,
that is history[which normally means the person wants to do exactly the same as before, just under a new banner or headline, dont chew over old bones.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 16:03:24

It's transport policy being discussed at the moment.
I agree with him about renationalising the railways.
Why should the tax payer subsidise private profit on the railways?

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 16:02:48

oh and unity too
push forward, move forward, unity, agree

obieone Sun 25-Sept-16 16:01:24

push forward, move forward. Always so easy to say if things are already going in the direction you want them to go in!

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:58:54

I agree on fracking as well, whitewave.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 15:58:42

What do you think about fracking? Go on I dare you to tell me.

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 15:57:31

annie grin I promise I won't report you or attack you. Bit of gentle persuasion perhaps but you won't mind that you will you?

Anniebach Sun 25-Sept-16 15:52:30

And if anyone disagrees they are attacked or reported

whitewave Sun 25-Sept-16 15:49:12

It will be a good exercise to list his hoped for policies to see if we can all agree on them.

I for one agree with him about fracking.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:34:22

Whitewave, there's just been a reminder at the conference tnat Corbyn is against fracking. No environmental vandalism there.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:32:28

Kinnock didn't win an election either, did he, as John Prescott reminded us today.
Doesn't stop you praising Kinnock.

durhamjen Sun 25-Sept-16 15:30:54

I seem to recall one PMQs when both May and Farron said about standing for North West Durham. Neither of them had any connection to the constituency, although Farron had at least been to Newcastle University.
Fortunately we are sensible here and vote for people who don't need parachuting in.
