Thanks nigglynellie for the reference to Aberfan. I was in my teens and remember the horror as the news unfolded on our tv at home. My mother wept for the mothers and their children. I wept this morning as I listened to interviews from Aberfan.

I understand that this is deviating which I know causes annoyance, but it is news and I'm sure some of you would agree with me that in all the sniping and unpleasantness that goes on on these threads perhaps we could all pause to remember the Aberfan disaster that happened fifty years ago today. It's not enough to start a new thread, but surely enough to make us all reflect on the horror of that event and the sorrow this anniversary must provoke. I was 23 at the time so can remember it well and as the mother of a 22 month old baby was deeply upset. "Steven King, 45, from Paisley, given suspended jail sentence after admitting sending menacing message

Staff working for Wallasey MP Angela Eagle said they had feared for her and their safety after death threats were sent to her in an email.

Steven King, 45, of Mirin Wynd, Paisley, Scotland, pleaded guilty at Wirral Magistrates Court today to a charge of sending a grossly offensive, indecent, obscene or menacing message by a public communications network.

Shopworker King told police he was “venting his anger” and would never have acted on any of the threats he made – which included telling her he would bring her life to an end with a gun or knife.

King sent the email from his mobile phone while getting ready for work on July 12 - the day after Ms Eagle formally announced her bid to oust Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader.

King’s email read: “If! You become the leader of the Labour Party you will split and make Labour lose but also will too have time too enjoy it, you will die you Bitch, you will have too watch every step.”

He told Ms Eagle to leave the UK and said she would “never be safe”, and threatened an “IRA sniper or bomb on you the day you steal the leadership of the Labour party .”

Later in the email he called the MP “an evil witch”, and wrote: “Do you really believe you can win and live to use that power? this is my one and only warning next time you see me I’ll be with a real gun or knife cutting your life to an end.”

I am reminded of those posts/posters who have over time denied this sort of thing was even happening.

I blame Cotbyn, if he really didn't support what some momentum activists have done and are doing he would cut off all connection with the group, but he will not because he needs them, he needs them because he is too weak to stand alone as leader, momentum makes sure he has successful rallies which are shown on tv. They provide the women who surround him at almost every public appearance.

He even depended on Shami to answer questions for him at the enquiry into anti semitism , she a member of a few weeks, he a member since 1983

He remained silent whilst a female MP was reduced to tears by verbal bullying by a momentum supporter, his excuse, I wasn't the chairman , he was filmed laughing with the bully immediately after .

As for 'leaked reports' I wonder why too , perhaps the Labour Party and the NEC thought it was not of interest to go public or hoped to keep it's findings quiet, Who Knows! However I do find it disingenuous whether it be a Report/Inquiry/Investigation some people choose to believe in one but another, depends if it suits their own remit I suppose.

One individual even went to the length of creating a “short investigation” into the “apparent” smashing and added Ms Eagle had attempted to “gain as much political advantage as possible” over the incident.

The report, however, which draws on 100 anonymous witness statements, dismisses these suggestions and adds that allegations will now be passed on to the disputes panel regarding individual disciplinary action.

The report adds: “It is highly likely that the brick thrown through the window of Angela Eagle’s office was related to her leadership challenge. The position of the window made it very unlikely that this was a random passer-by. The window was directly between two Labour offices. ' UNTRUE RUMOURS' were subsequently spread that the building was occupied by many companies and the window was in ' an unrelated stairwell'.

“This was based on a Companies House search which found that the landlord had a number of companies registered there; in fact, the only other occupant is the landlord on the upper floor. “The office of Angela Eagle has endured a significant amount of abuse, including abusive and intimidating phone calls. Staff members were eventually forced to unplug the phone. The investigation has received many hundreds of abusive, homophobic and frightening messages that have been sent by Labour members to Angel Eagle. Iam 64 you are absolutely right, as none of the abuse matters a jot to some Corbyn supporters.

Nobody is blaming Corbyn ( as such, although weak leadership may well have played a part) but we ARE blaming some very far left /Momentum supporters for all the vile tweets, phone calls/emails sent to Eagle.

Let's not argue semantics about the brick through a window pane at the building where Angela Eagle has her office. What about the homophobic abuse, the vile twitter messages, the threats towards her.
Does none of that matter to the supporters of Jeremy - who constantly repeats that he opposes all violence but seems to do absolutely nothing to address the vile verbal violence and physical threats towards those who dare to take a position that isn't entirely supportive of him and his friends.
Angela Eagle is a hard working constituency MP. Just because not everyone agrees with everything she's ever done or said does not in anyway justify the nastiness unleashed towards her.

The brick wasn't thrown through her constituency office window.
It was thrown through the window of the stairwell, and photos taken of it show the glass on the outside, so whatever was thrown was from the inside of the building.
That's easy to disprove.

I actually have not told you to join any party, and have not said I am a member of any party apart from having rejoined Labour, which I left in early 2000 when Blair was pretending to be socialist while bombing Iraq.

I am pleased that 'finally' Angela Eagle has received the proper response from the Labour Party over the disgusting behaviour she has had to endure from Labour Party members and 'far left' activists (Momentum), especially around the time of her Labour Leadership battle.

Anyone who has followed the politics threads will not be unaware that Angela Eagle and many other Labour MP's have been having a terrible time and there has been a lot of defence by yourself and a handful of other posters that say this simply has not happened.

The Labour Party National Executive Committee has 'finally' held an Investigation into the conduct of Labour members and 'far left' activists (Momentum ) towards Angela Eagle who pulled out of the Labour Leadership contest and has told for months of the vile e.mails she has received , including death threats. She has spoken of the 'far left' (Momentum) activism in her constituency of Wallesy and the awful homophobic abuse she has received. She has spoken of the fear her staff have been living with because of this growing militant activism and a brick being thrown the window of her constituency.

Some Gransnet posters have denied theses allegations but I hope that the NEC Investigation which concludes these events have indeed all taken place might just go some way to proving the points some posters have been making are/were indeed 'ALL TRUE'.

I think you have not found a place for your loyalties as you have told us to join the National Health Party, The Greens, Peoples Assembly Against Austerity and flirted with Momentum , I remember engaging in discussing Momentum with you and indeed somehow you have told us you once received e.mails from Momentum but were not a member.
