As I made a mistake and posted in 'Brexit, power to the people' - here is Brexit4.

I know some of you don't like 'experts' or their opinions, but I do urge all to listen to this man again, from Liverpool University, calmly and expertly explaining what the single market is, and how it does work

It was funny anniebach but on a serious note, pathetic.
And why can't Corbyn be brought up in a Brexit thread? He is the 'leader' of the opposition, and has plenty to say on it, not that it's very constructive.

durhamjen Thu 17-Nov-16 18:22:05

It's not a Corbyn thread, it's a Brexit thread. It's just that you make everything into an anti-Corbyn thread. You just can't help it.

Anniebach Thu 17-Nov-16 18:12:15

I should not post in Corbyn threads, I keep getting the image of him hiding behind glass , that was so funny , sorry Corbynites but it was a hoot

Anniebach Thu 17-Nov-16 18:09:27

Quite good at it !

Anniebach Thu 17-Nov-16 18:07:37

But he was going to stop sll that gladiatorial stuff with questions from Bessie in Basildon and Tom in Torquay - didn't work did it

Ana Thu 17-Nov-16 18:06:51

As I said 'Labour biased news outlets' such as the Guardian.

Did Tim Montgomerie disclose what he thought Corbyn's lookalike was good at? Just 'looking like Corbyn'? confused

durhamjen Thu 17-Nov-16 18:03:48

"May was poor, not weak enough for this to register as a disaster, but deficient in authority and credibility, and Corbyn can head for lunch with a sense of “job done”. It wasn’t a classic victory – there weren’t any especially memorable put-downs and, although his final question contained a good soundbite, the pay-off line was flat – but Corbyn was asking all the right questions, and May’s “we won’t reveal our negotiating stance” line is sounding increasingly more like an excuse than a strategy.

You could tell she was on the defensive because she ended up lashing out at Corbyn, without the nastiness that Cameron often deployed in these circumstances, but equally without fully explaining her case. So, as Labour-bashing goes, it was rather lame."

From the Guardian

Tim Monygomerie, Tory who used to run Conservative Home tweeted, "Who is this person who looks like Jeremy Corbyn? He's quite good at it." about PMQs. He's probably never said anything good about Corbyn before.

Ana Thu 17-Nov-16 17:57:06

Labour-biased news outlets would say so, wouldn't they?

petra Thu 17-Nov-16 17:49:41

I think if he could, Corbyn would do PMQ by Video link. Can you imagine if he ever became PM ( it's ok, purely hyperthetical) he would have a hologram of himself so he didn't have to have a face to face debate.

durhamjen Thu 17-Nov-16 17:48:26

Of course PMQ has a winner and a loser! The whole point of it is it's gladiatorial.
Winning for May would be answering a question that she was asked. She never does. She was even worse this time.
I wouldn't expect either of you to say he did well, but the news outlets that I read said so.

Beammeupscottie Thu 17-Nov-16 17:44:51

Who wouldn't give a withering stare to a bloke who is not up to the job; relies on an entourage for protection and acts as if he still on the backbenches with his pathetic retro politics. It's like the white rabbit trying to confront the Queen of Hearts.

nigglynellie Thu 17-Nov-16 17:35:25

Yes ab you're right; Goodness that was a very long time ago and makes me feel very elderly!!!
Yes petra I did! - poor man he must dread it!!

Anniebach Thu 17-Nov-16 17:22:16

Brown wasn't elected because he was unopposed, same with May niggly ,nit has happened in both parties, way back when Douglas Hume became PM by appointment of queenie, I think it was because Mac was too ill to continue ,gosh years ago

petra Thu 17-Nov-16 17:06:55

durhamjen you really do have low expectations of people if you thought that was good.
niggly did you see that withering/ sneering look she gave him, pure gold, even I felt sorry for him, and that's saying something.

nigglynellie Thu 17-Nov-16 16:39:20

Honestly dj if you think that poor old Corbyn got the better of Mrs May you really are a tad delusional! There is no way she is being drawn by his idiotic tedious questions for reasons previously expressed. It's called keeping your powder dry! Incidentally, I didn't realise that PMQ's was a competition, and had a winner and a loser!!! Poor man is way out of his depth to the point of feeling sorry for him. I believe Gordon Brown was never elected by his party, but perhaps in socialist land that's ok! It's not a question of defending Mrs May (although I do) it's just plain obvious who is smarter than who!!!

durhamjen Thu 17-Nov-16 16:00:38

I wonder if this group will come up with any answers for May.

durhamjen Thu 17-Nov-16 14:39:09

My so-called leader is leading very well at the moment, thank you very much. And he was elected leader by the party, which is more than can be said about May.

One good thing about May being PM is that at least Boris isn't. He is making himself, and the UK, the laughing stock of Europe.
He told Italy they would have to have free trade with the UK in order to sell Prosecco here. The Italian minister reminded him that they had another 27 countries to sell it to, unlike the UK who would have to sort out treaties with all the other countries. He is not doing us any favours. It's time he grew up.

Beammeupscottie Thu 17-Nov-16 00:54:39

It wasn't that May couldn't answer; she didn't want to for political reasons.
Do people realise that PMQT can be watched by all other Nations so you have to be careful what you say.
I take it.,dj, you are not one of the 40 odd % of Labour voters who prefer the Tory PM to their own so-called leader?

durhamjen Wed 16-Nov-16 23:32:43

57 + 12 is 69. Boris was born in 64.

God, roses, you really do stick up for that woman, no matter what. May answered; they were rubbish answers. She didn't want to, you're right, because she didn't have the answers. All the comments I've read about it say he won.

rosesarered Wed 16-Nov-16 22:22:27

Corbyn never wins at PMQ's, all he sounds like is a tetchy old uncle , May didn't WANT to answer his questions ( as opposed to couldn't).

Ana Wed 16-Nov-16 19:49:51

Good for Mumsnet!

Jalima Wed 16-Nov-16 19:41:16

So before Boris started school, then.
Well, before he was born!

I didn't learn it at school either, I kind of remember it as a child but not in detail.
Good to be refreshed.

durhamjen Wed 16-Nov-16 19:33:00

Corbyn definitely won at PMQs today. She really couldn't answer any of his questions.

whitewave Wed 16-Nov-16 18:55:12

I think May is distancing herself.. it is weird as she has had to distance herself from almost everyone in her cabinet at some point. Disfunctional!

durhamjen Wed 16-Nov-16 18:52:31

So before Boris started school, then. He obviously didn't learn about that at Eton and Oxford. Didn't come into the Classics curriculum, and nobody's told him about it since.
