Apologies if there is a new Trump thread, but the only one I could find had hit the magic 1000 posts mark.
Just seen this on Facebook. Makes excellent sense.

Great news! Firstly halted in his tracks by the judiciary (twice) and now by the legislature.

Will he throw his dummy out of the pram?

Rinouchka Sat 25-Mar-17 08:15:36

Very cheered by DT's latest setback and by the Republican response.

Rinouchka Sat 25-Mar-17 09:29:43

Undoubtedly fake news, but this raised a smile when I received it this am from a friend. Sort of sums up the situation!

Eloethan Sat 25-Mar-17 10:48:25

Rinouchka smile

gringrin
However, it seems he has hit his second major problem with his attempt to pass legislation to abolish Obamacare. No doubt it will be undermined to the point where it implodes, but no travel ban followed by another failure must have him spitting feathers.
We just need the "Mexican wall " to be thrown out and my joy will be unconfined.

Rinouchka that is an old one (first used for an Australian Prime Minister I think) but it never fails to raise a smile

durhamjen Sat 25-Mar-17 15:24:29

Do you think that republicans are trying to find a way of getting rid of trump?

whitewave Sat 25-Mar-17 16:12:49

Not sure really. I don't know enough, to judge. If they are would that mean the Vice President? Isn't he also mad as a box of frogs, a white supremacist?

durhamjen Sat 25-Mar-17 16:26:41

Once they've got rid of one, perhaps they would be able to get rid of the other? They might feel brave enough.
No precedent, I know, but there is no precedent for Brexit, either. No precedent for trump. either.

Rinouchka Sat 25-Mar-17 18:04:57

Transfer of power is very clear in the case of illness or impeachment: Vice President, followed by the Secretary of State. Whichever way you look at it, none of the solutions are exactly desirable. However, it is common knowledge in the US that most Republicans really wanted Mike Spence as president. They may, in due course, get their wish.

Crikey, a week without a post on this thread! Try this

Well there's the Flynn immunity thingy.

tanith Sat 01-Apr-17 10:45:26

I see the 'Donald' had a hissy fit and walked out of the Oval Office when he was supposed to be signing some more of his rubbish Executive orders because the Journos were asking him about Flynn.

durhamjen Sat 01-Apr-17 13:52:45

Brilliant, that, Ginny.
I did start another thread with one of his shows about April Fools Day, rather than put it on this thread. So many Daily Show laughs.

Are you still watching 100 days in Huffpost?

durhamjen Sat 01-Apr-17 13:53:52

Tanith, the article about that in Huffpost said it wasn't an April Fools joke.

Ginny42 Sun 02-Apr-17 06:35:54

Lewlew, for a senior security official to be asking for immunity from prosecution is alarming. What does he know? I'm concerned about his safety. Dead men don't talk.

Ginny42 Sun 02-Apr-17 06:50:14

Here's one that will shock you. Does Trump have poor literacy levels?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=KXGuJlTVXfw This is truly scarey.

Warning. There is a flashing reflection from time to time behind the speaker's head like cars passing by, which may be a problem for some.

MawBroon Mon 03-Apr-17 09:52:20

From the NY Times, sobering reading.

He is setting his sights on North Korea now. One young lunatic against one elderly lunatic. Hope at least the American system prevents any disaster. It has been doing its stuff lately.

rosesarered Mon 03-Apr-17 10:28:31

According to reports on BBC Trump had talks with Obama just before he (DT) became the President, where Obama told him that the US could stand up to North Korea, as their nuclear arsenal was thought to have war heads that could reach parts of the US and was therefore highly dangerous.DT having talks with the Chinese Leader this week, and hoping to get them onside.

whitewave Mon 03-Apr-17 10:29:54

His rhetoric is grim -as youd expect from rhe right

Lewlew Mon 03-Apr-17 11:40:23

Ginny Haven't a clue... he may just want to cover his own a$$. But that far right lot are all out for themselves. DT has 'dumped' him. I just shake my head as Flynn was the one who kept on about 'lock her up!' stuff.

Oh, I had to re-read the link... I thought it said PLASTIC presidency LOL!

N Korea's Kim and DT have more in common that they know. He could send Dennis Rodman over, Kim really liked him. He'll sort it out with a few dribbles.
