Showing his irrational grasp of reality - bigly.
Is democracy being by-passed in favour of the billionaires?
Sometimes it’s just the small things that press the bruise isn’t it? 😢

Trump Netanyahu press conference.
GracesGranMK2 you made me smile then. My dad was a USAF officer and to drive onto base (THE Andrews AFB it was, too), you had a bumper sticker on your car (this is on the old days).
When my mother would take us kids to the base for youth club activities, the gatehouse Air Police always saluted 'her'. I found that so funny. Dad say they were actually saluting the 'car' as it belonged to an officer. That was even funnier to be honest!
Of course, when dad drove, they saluted him, and very smartly, not the casual floppy one my mother got. By the time I could drive he had retired from the military so I never got to drive on base for the 'car salute'.
Ah...needed a smile. Thank you!
I just saw the news conference... OMG.
Bets are on he will have a meltdown if he tries another news conference. He can't hold it in...bullies usually can't.
He seems beyond therapy, noting King's text reference(s) from congress members. Sounds like the storm clouds are gathering.
I am so ashamed to be American.... but it's going to get worse, I fear. He has trampled all over the office of the President of the US.
Disgusting!
Someone was talking about them standing the other day Jen. They stand for the position not the person. It's always worth remembering that that the name on the door can change while the position stays.
He didn't like the Beeb did he. They must be doing something right
Just been watching again on the BBC news. It doesn't get any better.
I'd never realised before that all the press stand up when he comes in the room. Perhaps they won't in future.
Would it be better if they stayed away from the conferences?
Bloody rude to the press. Bad move Mr President!
He came across as entirely shallow, and the antithesis of statesmanlike. Other than that - delusional.Factually inaccurate remarks re Ronald Reagan too.
But the bottom line seems to be - If he doesn't like something, it MUST be fake news!
All of which is a lot of words to say precisely what?
I agree that he is not very "presidential". Since he hasnt bothered to change that at all from the off, I dont think he will.
But I presume he thinks it works for him? After all, he had about 15 other Republican nominees to beat, before he even got to go against Hillary Clinton.
We shall see in 4 years I guess if he runs again, or if he wants to run again. If he is up to it health wise or any other wise. He will be 74 at that stage.
Perhaps part of the reason he acts and talks in the way that he does is because of his age. Can I say that?
I just felt embarrassed listening to him. I can see how he got into a pickle and lost money he inherited and how he thinks he is still running a tv show. Made me really uncomfortable and I started off thinking oh well democracy is what you get when you let people vote and the Americans have had presidents who have been great on the surface but rubbish when history looks back on them.
Judthepud2 - didnt see either of those two bits Jud. Well I definitely did not see the Netanyahu bit. And cant remember a rant about election figures. I do remember something about election figures, if it was the bit I saw, but dont remember it at all as being a rant.
Something about they didnt expect me to get 252[or whatever number] and then I got past 252. They didnt expect me to get 270 and I past that etc. Was that the bit?
It was just his way of saying it?, if that is the bit you are talking about?
Though I was not paying as much attention at that particular bit.
dj
??? DJ face palms all round!
Did you see the press conference with Netanyahu? Trump really didn't come across as being informed or focused on policy. I don't agree with much of what Netanyahu proposes but he at least comes across as in control of what he says. In answer to one of the journo questions, T began a rant about his election figures, which bore no relation to the subject of the question. Very weird! Can you justify this Ankers?
I had hoped thought that once in office, Trump would accept his lack of political experience and knuckle down to learn about what is required of the job of POTUS. It really doesn't seem as if he is doing that. He is rolling out policy after policy without thinking through the implications.
Oh, you are going to say unhinged.
a risk in what way exactly whitewave?
If they are doing that, I should imagine he will try to fire them. They are not doing their job are they?
Apparently the intelligence agencies are keeping some information from trump as he's seen as too much of a risk. Watching him today I can quite see how they came to that conclusion.
sorry, in the definition there should not have been a comma
definition of rambling
lengthy, and confused or inconsequential
lengthy - yes? Does that matter. And so many journalists want questions answered.
confused or inconsequential - I dont see confusion at all.
And since even gransnet posters are listening to him direct, not to mention so many journalists from presumably many many countries, hardly insonsequential.
So in what way is he rambling?
Yes he was rude I thought.
Still cant see any rambling whatsoever.
I'm watching the press conference now. I was shocked by the way in which Trump spoke to John Sopel, the BBC journalist, so rude and aggressive. He rambled, he is used to being in control of his own business empire, that's very different than being the POTUS.
Nothing I've seen since he began working at the president has reassured me that he's a safe pair of hands.
Can we hope for more brain cells to go very quickly, whitewave. After all, he is 70.
Oh yes, a very good idea!
Can we hope for more brain cells to go very quickly, whitewave. After all, he is 70.
I wonder if he realises he's taken too much on. Maybe that's why he needs so many of his family to protect him.
I read an article a few days ago about why he signs executive orders on Saturdays. It's so he can get more in them without Kuchner having his say. Kuchner is Jewish and has to have special dispensation to do any work from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.
whitewave, he just said a whole lot about the press getting hold of stuff, which he says is illegal over there what they have done, so
whoever is eavesdropping, and whoever they are passing it on to.
Press directly, telephone interceptions by who knows who?
I think whoever did the mexico and australian interceptions are going to be in big trouble.
I should imagine they are rather worried right now!
