Didn't check the post - sorry for the typos. Becoming something of a standard follow up post for me!

nigglynellie Mon 17-Apr-17 19:05:13

I wouldn't have thought that TM would have a Facebook page, still less Twitter, I know DC did, but I wouldn't have thought either of these outlets would be her style, but I could be wrong!

Fitzy54 Mon 17-Apr-17 19:04:14

DJ I don't see this sort of thing as of any real evidence of voting intentions. However there was a recent poll which put Labour much closer than I mentioned earlier. Thee weee two pills putting the Tories at about 20% ahead and a third which put them (I think) a little over half that. Just shows how unreliable polls are at the moment. I would think Labours main hope will be a bad Brexit which will give them great election ammunition.

I wonder who fields May's facebook page. I bet she doesn't see those comments.

I don't mind - at all! What an old crabbit you are, durhamjen! grin

"The polls add that Mr Corbyn being associated with a policy is less toxic than some observers have predicted, claiming that association with the Labour leader has little impact on the public’s perceptions of the party’s policy agenda. For example, 71 per cent of adults agree with the minimum wage policy attributed to Labour, compared to 68 per cent who agree with the policy attributed to Jeremy Corbyn."

It's a shame that some of you cannot manage to reada whole article.
Never mind.

rosesarered Mon 17-Apr-17 17:03:34

I saw that, amazing isn't it? such is the popularity of JC, ahem!

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 16:46:46

Yes, I saw that in the news today Fitzy. You wouldn't think it from the posts on here, would you? grin

Also, even among Labour voters May is more popular than Corbyn.

Fitzy54 Mon 17-Apr-17 16:44:25

DJ these policies may have initial support but I doubt they will get much traction in the long run. A rise in the top rate won't collect much if any additional tax, and universal free school meals will fritter away a lot of money for the benefit of people that don't need it. The increase in the minimum wage to £10 probably won't be much more than under the Tories by the time we get to the next election. More telling are the polls which put the Tories up to 21 points ahead of Labour in terms of voting intentions.

Good news for the Labour party, and Corbyn.

Annie, Corbyn inspected the train loo in a factory where they make trains. I would have thought you were all for jobs in manufacturing, just like Corbyn.

Anniebach Sun 16-Apr-17 10:59:05

So it is not labour councillors who are forcing people from their homes ?

Anniebach Sun 16-Apr-17 10:57:15

Went for one day ?

durhamjen Sun 16-Apr-17 09:43:03

Everyone can unite apart from those I set apart by setting up grammar schools. Good message of unity there.

Just read today that the school fees for Shrewsbury School are £33,750. Parents who send their kids there are really wanting to unite with the ordinary working family.
My sons went there once.

whitewave Sun 16-Apr-17 08:15:17

May assumes too much if she thinks that her so called "Easter Message" will convince the UK to unit. Her party ensured that the country was totally split from top to bottom and between countries. What a feat that is in 10 short years. They have forced austerity on the poorest, brought the NHS to its knees, and there is crises in society everywhere you look.

JessM Sat 15-Apr-17 17:08:58

Labour MPs don't run the councils, they can only try to exert influence.

durhamjen Sat 15-Apr-17 14:29:47

What do you expect labour MPs to do against a government that is intent on making poor people homeless?

Anniebach Sat 15-Apr-17 11:57:45

My point is - there are three labour MP's in Brent

durhamjen Sat 15-Apr-17 11:55:35

Your point is?

Anniebach Sat 15-Apr-17 10:59:07

And Brent has three labour MP's yes?

durhamjen Sat 15-Apr-17 10:44:45

www.theguardian.com/society/2017/apr/14/london-councils-trying-to-force-homeless-families-outside-the-capital

Terrible that labour councils feel they have to do this. They are giving them 24 hours to accept the move. If they do not accept, they are said to be making themselves intentionally homeless.
It can't be right.

Anniebach Sat 15-Apr-17 10:29:51

Not sad I noticed Jen, frightening that the Labour Party has such a damn useless leader.

durhamjen Sat 15-Apr-17 10:24:59

So sad that that's all you notice, Annie.

Anniebach Sat 15-Apr-17 10:23:00

NHS in crisis, benefit cuts, tax credit cuts , I receive a photograph of the labour leader wearing a baseball cap inspecting a train loo. I give up.
