The Tories was the official name of a political party until the Great Reform Act and the Corn Laws, when the changed their name to Conservative, because they wanted to conserve things as they were.

We moved in 2009, and it was there then. Are you thinking of the Terry's factory? That closed in 2005, while we were living in York.
We used to have one of the chocolatiers staying with us, and he was developing new products. We tasted quite a few samples, although I never buy Nestle products myself.

I think it is still there although I have a feeling some of the old buildings were removed. Terry's at Bishopthorpe is now flats called "The Chocolate Works". Another bit of York's history disappearing.

I worked in the otherwise empty Terry's building while waiting for our newly formed Quango to move into it's new offices. It was an amazing bit of Victorian architecture and such a pity it is no longer there.

As for your question to myself re the Clive Lewis link I am not sure what to say as I agree with some of it such as:-

I felt a lot of it was defending Corbyn , no surprise there as Lewis is known to be an MP who backs Corbyn's Leadership. Plenty of other MP's are saying things in a different vein so links could be equally raised that would say the opposite.

I remember the upset Lewis expressed when he was Shadow Defence Secretary and his 'Trident Speech' was altered at short notice by Seamus Milne. Lewis was moved to Shadow Business Secretary shortly afterwards in Corbyn's Cabinet Reshuffle and replaced by Nia Griffith's.

Lewis was obviously not pleased with Corbyn over the triggering Article 50 and resigned from the Shadow Cabinet.

Is he on manoeuvres to become Labour Leader? Some say yes some say no but only time will tell. At least for the moment he is doing as expected and standing up for his Leader so well done for that but to be honest I have watched Clive Lewis on various media outlets and I'm not so sure he is not playing 'a waiting game' but saying all the 'right things' in the meantime as the Corbyn 'Inner Circle' have more clout than the PLP.

It's not a case of 'Keeping your enemies closer' more I know 'Which spoons to grease'. Obviously just my opinion but you did ask.

When asked who would take over from Corbyn the answer is obvious, one of the small group who support him , well claim to support him .

Corbyn will hang on until the bitter end......and it will certainly be a bitter end for Labour.
