May or Sturgeon?

Ok the question is which is the better politician?
I'm going for Sturgeon. I find her a better speaker, she seems more sincere and more able to withstand questioning.
May sometimes looks like a rabbit in the headlights (I know I'm the leader but what do they want me to say ?)
Occasionally comes across as the Head girl (You must do what the Headmaster wants-it is his school)
And sometimes just seems to be a bit lost and needs her notes.
I know many of you will say it is my political views that have influenced my choice and you may be right. But let me know who you prefer.
Oh and completely un PC but quite fun I think Sturgeon has the better outfits!

I dislike May intensely on her record at the Home Office as well as in her current position. I have no opinion on Nicola Sturgeon except that she seems more humane.

I don't have a problem with her voice but there again I am from the Midlands so can sit on the fence. I do think that with women it is the tone, sometimes strident, that can get on one's nerves. I find the tone of her voice fine. There again I like listening to Jacob Rees Mogg, lovely hearing someone speak proper, like.

I heard May on the radio and thought I can't stand her voice.
Far too posh sounding for me. Is it a north/south thing?

I agree Ruth Davidson is a star. To be as well thought of in Scotland despite being the local Tory leader says it all. NS is good at what she does but it's a bit of a one dimensional job really - rousing independence speeches and constant complaints about "the Westminster system" (democracy?). TM is doing pretty well really given her next to impossible job. We could bring in Jezza? Very competent speaker but his politics and the people he has attracted to the Labour party are proving to be its ruin. Outfits ok though!

I just can't stand her voice,NS that is, it's hectoringingly off putting and getting shriller by the day. As soon as she appears with her mono mantra "Scotland must have another referendum blah blah" We have no choice in our house, but to reach for the remote and remove her disagreeable presence so we can restore our hearing to it's natural equilibrium. God we could have another 18 months or more of her cranking up to internal combustion level shock Give me Ruth Davidson's modulated tones any day, or even Teresa May's.

So May's better than Sturgeon because she's taller? Eh? Where was that? How did I miss that? Please could someone point me to that ridiculous post, I don't seem to be able to find it?

Jalima Wed 22-Mar-17 19:44:05

No, the poster said she feels safer with May in charge, because May feels like a proper grownup.
She then went on to comment on Sturgeon's appearance as other posters have done but, having seen her, knows what she looks like in RL.

Ana Wed 22-Mar-17 19:38:54

Did anyone actually say that? No, didn't think so.

durhamjen Wed 22-Mar-17 19:34:24

So May's better than Sturgeon because she's taller?
How un-grownup.

Chewbacca Wed 22-Mar-17 19:07:33

I have 3 leather handbags! And 3 pairs of leather boots. blush grin grin

Jalima Wed 22-Mar-17 19:01:17

Lots of people wear leather and lots of people eat meat.

I am sorry if it offends people, I don't have a leather jacket or, heaven forbid, leather trousers but I do wear leather shoes as anything else is not comfortable on my awful feet.

Jalima Wed 22-Mar-17 18:58:32

A proper grown up
Yes, that is very apt.

Jane10 Wed 22-Mar-17 18:49:25

I just feel safer with May in charge. She feels like a proper grown up! Sturgeon is very like wee Jimmy Krankie. I met her once in a corridor. She is tiny and plastered in make up.

durhamjen Wed 22-Mar-17 17:41:28

I don't notice whether her suits are brighter than anyone else's, as I am not bothered about fashion. Although I was hoping that May's trousers were not leather, when I saw that picture.

Jalima Wed 22-Mar-17 17:28:04

You can't help but notice Sturgeon's bright suits though! A bit like the Queen, I suppose, she needs to be seen standing out in a crowd so wears bright clothes. She has certainly lost a lot of weight and so has May, although hers is due to her diabetes being diagnosed I think. I am not so keen on Theresa's clothes.

Right, frippery aside, I prefer Theresa May because Nicola Sturgeon, although sincere, is like a record which is stuck in a groove.

durhamjen Wed 22-Mar-17 17:21:29

I agree with you, BadenKate abut the grammar school quip. I noticed she left it to the end of his last question so he could not respond.

Strangely enough my grandson asked me today which Tory MP I liked. Sarah Wollaston was my response.

However out of the two in the OP, Sturgeon is definitely the most sincere. I never look at their clothes as I am not bothered about superficial matters, just their policies.

Chewbacca Wed 22-Mar-17 17:00:32

Theresa May has a professional, calm and efficient manner about her. Nicola Sturgeon has an overexcited, nagging and hectoring persona. Sturgeon reminds me of an over wound clockwork toy because she just goes on and on and on and on...............

MawBroon Wed 22-Mar-17 16:44:31

I have a lot of time for Ruth Davidson and remember at the time of the London Mayoral elections an article (in the Guardian no less) which said the Tory party needed more Ruth Davidsons and fewer Zac Goldsmiths!!

Christinefrance Wed 22-Mar-17 16:26:50

Theresa May for me every time. I have the feeling that Nicola Sturgeon is more interested in power and furthering her own career. Ruth Davidson is the better person I think.

nigglynellie Wed 22-Mar-17 15:47:43

I can't see that subjecting the poor long suffering Scots to another once in a generation referendum is particularly compassionate or truthful, bearing in mind that the last referendum was three years ago! Forgive me, but even my bad maths knows that a generation is longer than three years!!!! Hard to believe anything this woman says!!
As for Theresa May, perhaps you could point out another politician who could do her job, particularly on the the benches opposite?! What do you expect her to do apart from the best she can for ALL of us?! Before you say about food banks, they were alive and very well under the last Labour government, as indeed were most things, good and bad.

paddyann Wed 22-Mar-17 15:29:31

" doffs cap" sorry to the tory faithful I though we were allowed opinions here .Teresa May is sadly lacking in compassion, that is clear to see,I was questioning if she even KNOWS the word .

nigglynellie Wed 22-Mar-17 15:25:12

and rather a pathetic one!!!

POGS Wed 22-Mar-17 15:22:22

" Wouldn't expect anything else from a tory though. "

Well it certainly is an 'expected' comment .

Ana Wed 22-Mar-17 15:09:36

paddyann, why on earth shouldn't Theresa May be able to spell 'compassion'? What a rude comment to make, whatever you think of the tories.

Badenkate Wed 22-Mar-17 15:06:50

Well, I think my 'spiteful' comment about May has been vindicated. What a nasty comment about Corbyn sending his son to Grammar School.
