Annie in these days of mobile phone films there will always be pictures of dead bodies lying on the ground in such a situation as yesterday. After all it was the truth just as the attacker was also dead and counted as dead by those in charge. Being dead and being said to be dead is not respect. It is a fact.
It was hard day for the police and the paramedica and everyone else involved and yet some others have to complain about how it is reported. Would they have done better if they had been in charge?

The BBC should not show bodies lying on the ground and not the properties where arrests have been made

I assumed that all the police around Westminster were armed! Time they were then.

I agree with those who say that the media wall to wall coverage is too much, yes, I switch off once I know the facts, but wallowing in it all and asking inane questions of all and sundry does nothing to add to it.It becomes a media circus, and gives the killers cause too much airtime.
I too think it bizarre to count the death of the killer in with the death toll, it may be accurate, but seems unusual in this kind of reporting.

The perpetrator sounds like an all round bad egg, with a violent history.

Antwerp man was stopped for careless driving and police found weapons in his car. French news has just stated that man was intoxicated. At least, quick reaction of police stopped him from claiming lives.

visited Coughton Court today that belongs to the Throgmorton family. One of their family took part in the Gun Powder plot After yesterday, seems a funny old world. At least they weren't successful in killing anyone, but had it blown up goodness knows how many people would have been injured/killed.

PetitFilou99, the French schoolchildren are getting the best possible care. Mrs. May mentioned them in the special session in Parliament today and I was moved by the French foreign minister who, during his visit in London today, said on France Inter Infos this morning that he was grateful for the excellent care the children were getting and thanked Mrs. May and the London emergency services.

It is indeed sad that Saint Joseph has been affected by two terrorist attacks but let us hope that the children hit will recover fully.

My thoughts are for those families who have so tradically lost their loved ones.

as usually everyone is in a rush so do not want to answer you. This is what my older son didn't like about living in London.

Very sad to hear the school in Concarneau, Brittany, where the French schoolchildren are from had already lost one of their pupils in the Bataclan terrorist attack in Paris in November 2015.

Even for those pupils not harmed in yesterday's attack, what they have witnessed will have been truly traumatic and probably stay with them forever.

I wish with all my heart that the 3 French schoolchildren go on to make a full recovery, although two of them seem to be in a very serious condition. My heart breaks for their poor parents and I hope they are being well looked after by all concerned (French Embassy and British authorities).

The actual degree of risk is very very small. I'm working in the City at the moment - this morning's journey was slow because Westminster Bridge is still closed which increased the traffic on the nearby bridges but otherwise everything was as ever. I'm not the slightest bit scared - crossing the road is more worrying. I think it's quite indulgent to be frightened

Yorkshire where is all this bombing going on in France? I have not heard about it from friends on in the media!!!

For those complaining about all-day coverage, why don't you just switch off/over?

I think people are right to complain about all-day covering of things such as this attack. The terrorists are quick to claim responsibility because it is all free publicity for them, and all it does is frighten people more. The news people are helping the terrorists imo.

Sheilasue it is not just the cities who are at risk. Everyone is at risk. These people do not care who they kill, women or children included.

Have to agree with the comment about the terrorist being numbered with the casualties. This man was evil. He deserves no respect whatsoever!

Not impressed with Daily Politics today. They had that journalist on saying that the police in the Parliament building ARE NOT ARMED! Also that it was a personal bodyguard who shot the terrorist dead not the police. Doesn't help does it?

I feel so sorry for all those killed or injured. Also or the little French children who came here for a respite from all the bombing etc that is happening in France only to be injured themselves. 3 are still in hospital.

So sad for all caught in this senseless violence. This man was British born. What is it that turns them in to terrorists, is it propaganda or resentment? The internet has a lot to answer for.

I lived just outside London for many years & regularly traveled into "Town" for both work & pleasure. I was in an office near Heathrow on 7/7, I knew many colleagues who worked in London & we had news come through on our internal internet. It is worrying when you have family/friends in the area, waiting for news that they're ok is stressful.

I was slightly annoyed at the news coverage & media speculation although the Met has requested that no-one speculates.

My thoughts are with those who have lost family members & the injured

I agree with pollyperkins - the BBC reported 4 deaths accurately, all news channels filled space as they waited for information the security/police service by asking passers by superficial and in fact silly questions. We don't need to watch the 24 hour news, or listen to the extensive radio coverage. It's up to us. I found myself watching events on the tv during the afternoon, unheard of for me to have the tv on other than in the evening. 24 news coverage is a mixed blessing. I usually watch channel 4 at 7, a good time of day for me, I listen to radio 4 in the morning and read a couple of newspapers. 24 hour news channels like the BBC and Skye have to fill space so its repetitive, I like the way channel 4 presents thorough news.

I'm in awe of the response of the police, security service and medical professionals. Makes you proud doesn't it.

Surely now a sensible change would be to a modern voting method. I have always been infuriated by the waste of time when there is so much to get through, but now find that it actually puts MPs in danger, and announces the fact by ringing bells everywhere.
I believe MPS are all provided with Ipads, so they could use those to vote instantly and move on to other business.
If you want tradition, do it the old way once a year, to amuse tourists.

It was it seems Michael Fallon's security man who killed the attacker. Quite by coincidence - Fallon was on his was to the house from his office as there was to be a vote - security man with him.

Well while I, like others , am appalled at the news I cannot agree with the comments criticising the BBC who to my mind give balanced coverage on the whole. As to saying 4 people died, (including the perpetrator) this is surely just a fact. No-one is suggesting we are sorry he died, or that we mourn all th deaths equally. An emotional over-reaction on this site in my view. Sorry! Lets stick with unemotional reporting of facts.
What I do object to, and it happens on all channels, is the reporters asking bystanders over and over again about their reactions. That is time filling. What they saw, yes, is part of the news, as we are trying to piece together what happened, but what the man in the street thinks is not news.

I went off watching BBC news a long time ago NfkDumpling I agree with your DH, they do tend to "wallow" and including the cold blooded murderer in the death toll as though "he" were a victim is unforgivable.
