Brexit all done and dusted?

As an arch REMOANER I for one (of many) will not simply roll over and say that is that. As things progress at the very least parliament must ensure that the country does not Brexit in a bad way because of "The Will of the People". So many lies were told by both side at the time of referendum that when the full facts come to light a re-think should be considered.

I have yet to hear a sound reason for voting LEAVE. Of course the EU is far from perfect but we are better trying to change it from within than sniping from outside. A general election or second referendum before the point of absolute no return.

I happen to be visiting Brussels on an educational trip after Easter so until then I will put up and shut up unless really provoked.

Opinion or message?!!! F.goodness.S, talk about splitting hairs, what on earth is the difference?! Surely a message is your opinion, Your opinion when vocalised is your message!! It's up to people to either agree or not depending on your point of view. Why would you get all aerated about which of these it's called! confused

Anniebach Mon 17-Apr-17 15:14:58

And apologies for returning to the hat, who has seen hard hats with creases in them?

Jalima1108 Mon 17-Apr-17 15:18:31

I thought the Corbyn was an atheist, if that is correct it is surely his April holiday message, not Easter message?

Jalima1108 Mon 17-Apr-17 15:18:57

not the Corbyn I meant 'that Corbyn'

[oh dear]

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 15:19:39

If all three of them had said 'Happy Easter, folks!' Theresa May would have been castigated for not being serious/inclusive enough, but Corby & Co's 'messages' would have gone down a storm...(so human, so sincere, what a prat etc.)

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 15:22:05

Annie you're right, I don't think the black cap is a hard hat at all - there's a gap at the back as well. But I think the other two are.

nigglynellie Mon 17-Apr-17 15:24:27

An April opinion maybe? Well there's a thought!! anni, you are perfectly at liberty to mention the 'cap' as much as you like? It always makes me chuckle, so that has to be a good thing!

Anniebach Mon 17-Apr-17 15:46:13

Thank you Ana, working in a building firm I do know a little about hard hats, and those hats do not come under safety helmets so perhaps to protect from dust grin

Niggly, if it gives you a chuckle then all for the good

daphnedill Mon 17-Apr-17 16:13:22

They're wearing goggles too. Here's anotherpicture from the same series with yet another person wearing a cap/hat.

daphnedill Mon 17-Apr-17 16:25:37

Protective caps don't need to be hard helmets:

www.ktpprolog.com/index.php/products/head_protection/bump_caps/u_cap.html

I didn't even realise that politicians make Easter messages until this year. They should leave it to the Archbishop of Canterbury?

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 16:28:47

Yes daphne, but look at the first photo - the man in the black baseball-type cap seems to be some kind of worker. All the 'hard hats' are blue.

daphnedill Mon 17-Apr-17 16:33:41

Maybe they're "guest hats"! Maybe they're disposable, in case the guests have nits!hmm I don't think they're a fashion statement.

daphnedill Mon 17-Apr-17 16:37:15

I've just noticed the comment under this picture:

www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/jeremy-corbyn-put-baseball-cap-10221742

Suit: model's own Model?

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 16:42:00

Ah! A 'protective' baseball cap...grin

rosesarered Mon 17-Apr-17 17:00:20

Is Jeremy doing a bit of modelling now?grin
If you want to get ahead get a hat!

durhamjen Mon 17-Apr-17 17:59:48

The woman behind him was wearing one, too. Are you going to criticise her for wearing one, or him because there is a woman getting off the train behind him?
He's probably wearing steel toecaps, too, but they didn't take photos of them for you to get all hot under the blue collar about!
Quite pathetic, some of you.

Ana Mon 17-Apr-17 18:01:24

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted! grin

It's possible to vote for Europe in the local elections on 4th May. Vote for a candidate who supports the idea of the EU, rather than Brexit.

Whether it is local council elections or the Gorton by-election, if you want to make your voice heard vote for the Liberal Democrat candidate. Do not waste your vote on Tories or Labour who seem to have abandonded their principles and acquiesced in this "will of the people" absurdity.

So many politicians are going back on what they really believe to be true- that leaving the EU will do untold harm to our country. Only the LibDems are willing to stand up for what they believe.

Anniebach Mon 17-Apr-17 20:32:08

Best Corbyn learns not to have photo shoots on trains, just say as he did to the select committee when asked about calling Hamas his friends - with hindsight I was wrong.

Stick to your allotment Jez , avoid trains, female reporters - they can ask questions which make you feel you are being harassed , oh and glass doors grin

Jalima1108 Mon 17-Apr-17 20:35:39

Corbyn and trains don't mix!!

Watch the steel toecaps anniebach
Ouch!

Jalima1108 Mon 17-Apr-17 20:38:08

Apparently the side of the head is more vulnerable than the top so the hats seem fairly useless to impacts from the side.

(Been watching too much Line of Duty etc)

Anniebach Mon 17-Apr-17 21:03:36

As someone who has to attend health and safety days I will say again, that hat was not a safety helmet .

FarNorth Mon 17-Apr-17 21:07:43

Not only the LibDems, varian, unless you are only referring to English politicians.
