May is to make an important announcement at 11.15

Fitzy54 Wed 19-Apr-17 18:22:23

DJ sadly I didn't know Harry either but many thanks for the introduction. But I'm struggling to see how the result of a democratic vote with another one no more than 5 years means democracy will suffer. That's how democracy works isn't it? We have a vote, someone wins, and we have another one later, and again and again.......

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 18:21:32

Grammargran, sorry.

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 18:20:42

Grammargra, if you look at anyone's name, if it is blue they have put info on their profile. Just click on it and you'll find out.

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 18:19:21

No, Ana. Couldn't care less how old you say you are. It was you who said something about my age. Obviously you've forgotten that - showing your age again.
I bet you've gone and changed it again.

grammargran Wed 19-Apr-17 18:01:12

Where are these profiles? I need to know how many poor old souls are older than me - there can't be many!

Ana Wed 19-Apr-17 17:47:59

No durj - when I first joined I entered my correct age - but GN doesn't automatically update like some sites do and you picked me up on it ages ago, saying I must surely be more than 62 (or whatever) by now.

You do find me fascinating, don't you? grin

GracesGranMK2 Wed 19-Apr-17 17:39:13

Someone said it only the politics that matter. So wrong in this day and age. Image of strength is everything. Look at Trump

I am wondering if someone, out there in real life, said "only the politics matter" of if you are misquoting me. I did say "only the policies matter". There really is a big difference. Eventually people will realise that the strength of the bully is a chimera Bus.

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 17:38:17

Where do you think I got your age from? Maybe you should check it.

Ana Wed 19-Apr-17 17:36:52

Still should have been in quotes. No getting away from it...

(Actually, aren't I still rather ancient according to my profile? You obviously haven't checked it recently durhamjen)

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 17:29:49

Until you noticed that Harry Leslie Smith said it, grammargran.

He's probably more sprightly than me, judging by his photos.

grammargran Wed 19-Apr-17 17:27:45

Ana I thought the same thing! I was gobsmacked for all of half a second! (Which is not logical at all, I know a couple of very sprightly, very on-the-ball 90+ year olds!)

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 17:27:27

You were 197 and a bit when you joined GN, Ana. Have you forgotten? Must be old age.

Ana Wed 19-Apr-17 17:19:30

Goodness - wish you'd put that comment about age in quotation marks durhamjen - I mean, I know you're older than me, but surely not 94! grin

Anniebach Wed 19-Apr-17 17:19:14

I could hit Corbyn, just saw him on the news , in Croydon surrounded by supporters but no notes and fired up , why does he turn into a mouse at PMQ

Harry's Last Stand election diary.

Beammeupscottie Wed 19-Apr-17 16:58:01

I used to know a Harry Smith, who worked in Tescos and a Leslie Smith who was a male nurse. Am I getting close?

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 16:57:49

Don’t dread old age. I’m 94, and I won’t spend my last years in fear of the Tories | Harry Leslie Smith

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 16:55:21

You don't know Harry Leslie Smith?
How sad.

Osborne has only ever been out for himself. Nothing new there.

Beammeupscottie Wed 19-Apr-17 16:51:53

Osbourne shows shrewdness. Whoever wins Tatton will lose it in the boundary changes.
Also, if Socialists feel disgruntled they have only themselves to blame for allowing a Wally to lead them. You reap as you sow.

Beammeupscottie Wed 19-Apr-17 16:46:52

Sorry dj,but you read some very strange websites! I am frightened to use some of them because they might infect my computer.

Beammeupscottie Wed 19-Apr-17 16:43:38

Someone said it only the politics that matter. So wrong in this day and age. Image of strength is everything. Look at Trump.

durhamjen Wed 19-Apr-17 16:42:41

"We must treat this #GeneralElection like it will be our last b/c if the Tories hold power democracy will become a pale shadow of itself."

Harryslaststand.

Ana Wed 19-Apr-17 16:38:41

You have to do two --s either side, Blinko.

Anniebach Wed 19-Apr-17 16:35:38

The bounderies will be changed in 2018 with s gain for the Tories and a loss for lsbour

Blinko Wed 19-Apr-17 16:34:41

Can't get the hang of this strikethrough thing...
