POGS My daughter has been canvassing in Gorton for Labour, but is on the verge of resigning. The reason is that she's very pro-Remain and is fed up with the Labour leadership's attitude to Brexit. Many of the people she's spoken to in Gorton, which is the ninth safest Labour seat in the country, have said that they'll be voting LibDem, because Brexit is the most important single issue to them.

The results are going to be interesting.I suspect the Conservatives will win a huge majority, but we might all be surprised. The LibDems are hopeful of winning back at least 30 seats, but most of them were Conservative gains. They might even win back a couple of Scottish seats, although the polls are currently predicting that the Conservatives have more support in Scotland than Labour. Ukip is almost dead and Arron Banks won't have time to get his act together with his new party. How badly Labour does depends on how Ukip voters vote (probably Conservative) and how many Labour voters switch directly to Conservative (not many I'd have thought).

It's all going to be very interesting - probably worth staying up all night to watch. I think there will be some surprises.

Of course Ms May has to go for a hard Brexit in the same way as the Unions would demand twice the pay rise they were after. How else is she going to have any bargaining ground?

It seems the other parties are running scared, you can promise a lot in opposition but voters are not fools Theresa May will get a good majority.

Why aren't those who vote for other parties and have made well known their stance on The EU Referendum to REMAIN not jumping for joy.

How many times have the REMAIN voters said Theresa May has 'No Mandate' to take Brexit forward?

Theresa May has clearly stated why she has changed her mind in her speech. The opposition parties have declared their intentions to over rule anything she has done, will do and vote the government down at every opportunity available.

What that realistically means is the government could complete 2 years of negotiations and the MP's and the Lords will vote NO , that is their stated intentions. Theresa May therefore has come to the conclusion she will ask the voters to back the government who wishes to comply with the EU Referendum result or make it known she does not have the voter behind her.

The question is will the public/the voter see Brexit as a reason to vote or not for any political party or will the public/the voter go for which party they believe will be the best to run the UK Parliament.

Theresa May has certainly put herself in a precarious position and has the most to lose but I don't think the other main opposition parties are right to feel smug either because of the decisions within ALL of the Parties over the EU Referendum in their constituencies.

SNP can only gain one seat in the commons from Tories, one from Labour and one from Libdem.
Hope they do all that. Won't make any difference to Sturgeon. She is not in Westminster.

I thought it rather ill-mannered of TM to slag-off the opposition parties and the House of Lords from the lectern with No.10 as the backdrop.

IMO that particular location is for National announcements only - the politicking could have come in a statement/interview after the event.

Politians of all shades seem to change their minds much more often then they used to.

I was pretty shocked when I heard that immediately after paying homage to Trump, Theresa May went directly to Turkey for talks with Erdogan. Perhaps she asked him for tips on how to create a one-party state.

The opinion polls put the Tories so far ahead of Labour that she clearly sees this as her best chance of fending off any opposition. She is an absolute hypocrite, putting her own selfish interests before the country.

It is vital that as many people as possible support the LibDems who are standing up for the Remainers and those Leavers who have changed their minds or certainly don't want her type of cliff-edge hard brexit.

Of course she's going for a hard Brexit.
