Corbyn will have to go against his rhetoric and belief of the past over his stance on the European Union to take the Labour Message to the electorate, Labour is firmly for Remaining in the European Union . Will he be believed, can he show a bit more enthusiasm this time round.

They are saying that only Libdems will be able to stop Brexit. That's a dilemma for lots of people.

Trouble with pressing the button for a snap, or any election, you are never sure of the outcome until the last vote is counted, scrutinised and declared. We have had a lot of political 'surprises' recently. Political daughter so relieved she had already booked holiday for that date. Berlin will have to wait.

Wouldn't it be better for you go an argue it with other party members Annie? That way you may influence something - you certainly don't persuade anyone towards Labour on here and you have the right-wingers cheering. The Fixed-Term Parliament Act was supposedly to stop governments from calling a snap election when the polls are in their favour.

Opposition parties can hardly not vote for an election, so the Act would seem to have been a total waste of time.

I would have thought ALL those who dislike the Tories, those who voted Remain would be over the moon Theresa May has called for a general Election.

Personally I don't think she has much choice other than to call for a General Election but I'm not sure it will go as expected.

It's another referendum on the basis of May's vision (what we understand of it) for Brexit.

She mentioned the House of Lords being against her Brexit plans. They still can be.

Well I guess what she is basically saying to the other Parties is ' Put up or shut up, put your money where your mouth is ' and vote in Parliament to vote for a General Election.

Liberal Democratic are sounding as though they will vote for a General Election, so they should given their rhetoric and their desire for a Fixed Term Parliament.
