Voting quandry

I'm a life-long Labour voter but cannot bear to suppprt Corbyn in the forthcoming election. The party will remain a shambles until it is under proper leadership and he seems to have totally lost the plot. I will not vote Conservative for many reasons and I feel betrayed by Theresa May's u-turn on Brexit, u-turn on not calling an election...there is no trust.

I will not abstain - the vote is a privilege. But for the first time I am seriously at a loss. There is no credible opposition. Locally there are no viable candidates that I feel I can endorse in order to make a point. I need to put my X in the box and it's the first time ever I've thought they are all as bad as each other.

Got it Ana, thank you

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 21:03:26

Jen posted that claim with no link but later explained it was a quote from that tv actress who is now MP for the constituency which was the constituency of Joe Cox .

Ana Fri 05-May-17 21:03:15

No, they're just boring each other (and the rest of us...)

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 21:00:13

Thank you Rosesarered , so when Jen tells me to shut up she is discouraging me from posting, when GG suffers another mouth gaping yawn she is really telling me to stop posting boring posts? And I thought she was an insomnia sufferer,

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 20:55:34

I buy my veg from a local small organic business, veg is delivered in a box with newspaper wrappings, they know not to even put the mail in with my veg grin

rosesarered Fri 05-May-17 20:47:44

cafecupcake Jalima ?

Jalima1108 Fri 05-May-17 20:16:08

A Corbynite has claimed?..... Not Jeremy himself, just some anonymous person. And where was that said, the Daily Mail?
Annie, just about all your objections refer to media reports and twisted words, which have been going on from the beginning.
grin grin grin

anniebach I never took you for a Daily Mail reader
ROFL
With that hilarious thought I will go and do something useful!

rosesarered Fri 05-May-17 20:11:11

durhamjen keeps telling posters to go away/ leave the thread, ( if they disagree with her) so that's what it means.
Ignoring some posters is good for my sanity though.grin

Our seven Welsh labour town councilors have been re elected , the Tory I have been battling with on a local site lost , serve him right for using personal attacks against our lot. And the mayoress who stands as an independant but is a Tory also attacked the labour candidates, she has been on the council for years - not for the next five

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 16:03:34

It was said in the labour thread today by .jen

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 16:02:03

Exactly was does discouraging others from posting mean please?

Ana Fri 05-May-17 16:01:49

Couldn't we have something a bit more robust than 'gentle'? Honestly...how old are we?

Ana Fri 05-May-17 15:59:47

I do feel inclined to say 'mind your own business' GNHQ when it's really all part and parcel of everyday life with sme members on the political threads!

<Thought for the day - why didn't Hardie fight for the communists if as a Corbynite has claimed - communism is the true socialism , yet he formed a socialist party>

POGS Fri 05-May-17 15:56:55

Blimey, that's the least of the problems on GN lately. confused

I suppose it depends as well what posts are 'reported' at any one time maybe.

Hey ho.

MetteGransnet (GNHQ) Fri 05-May-17 15:48:42

Hi everyone,

Just a gentle reminder; please don't discourage anyone from posting or encourage others to ignore certain posters.

Many thanks and much appreciated,

GNHQ

POGS Fri 05-May-17 15:35:24

GG MK 2

To be honest I don't really care about your excuses but I will say you do twist posts when it suits. Yes it is my opinion and I am also very happy to stick with every word I posted at 12.08.

You see an example would be this :-

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 09:42:48
Labour has lost control of Merthyr council. The birth place of the Labour Party

And of me smile
-----
GracesGranMK2 Fri 05-May-17 10:03:24

And their loss makes you smile Annie?
-----
GGMK 2

"She also put a smile when telling us of a Labour loss - why should I not comment on someone who has told us that they are a long term member, who has also told us what is right and what is wrong (at great length) when it comes being a LP member, doing that? "
----

GG MK 2 you read what you wanted to read in Anniebach's post because you are on her back all the time , along with others.

Did you not think beyond your accusation that Anniebach using the smile could have been because she was saying she was born in Merthyr and it's connection to the Labour Party? That's how I read it.

Did you not sit back for a second before posting Anniebach was laughing at a Labour loss?

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 14:58:21

Is 'yawn' a question or a discussion grin

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 14:56:42

yes Ana, the smile was a display of my pride in my birthplace , the labour loss of Merthyr was devastating, Corbyn should not have done his Hardie act there , big mistake, he is no Hardie,

Thought for the day - why didn't Hardie fight for the communists if as a Corbynite has claimed - communism is the true socialism , yet he formed a socialist party

Ana Fri 05-May-17 14:44:23

GracesgranMk2. Annie posted:

And of me smile

Now, I assumed that the 'smile' was because Merthyr was her own place of birth and I can't see why you didn't.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 05-May-17 14:40:19

Rosesarered, she has been baiting and attacking me on every thread for ages ...

I neither bait nor attack you AB. You appear to think you can post anything and no one will question or disagree. Your level of posting will mean you get a high level of posts in reply but I am sure you will agree we all have a right to join in the discussion, put our opinions forward and question or disagree with those of other posters.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 05-May-17 14:35:00

You see POGS, I think they are perfectly reasonable questions to ask of someone who has insisted on telling us her every feeling about both Corbyn and 'her' Labour Party. I do not know if Annie has only supported Labour in the Blair years - which from what she has said is what she sees as the only real Labour, so it is a reasonable question. I also do not know if she has actually left the Labour Party she has been in since Adam was a lad so that also, as she has regaled us in such depth about her view of the wrongness of the current democratically elected leader and the party that voted for him, seems perfectly reasonable to ask too - after all AB does not have to answer. She also put a smile when telling us of a Labour loss - why should I not comment on someone who has told us that they are a long term member, who has also told us what is right and what is wrong (at great length) when it comes being a LP member, doing that?

... and really POGS why should I not say 'Why on earth would it worry me that Annie doesn't like Corbyn' when explaining what about Annie's posts I feel are really, really questionable as a party member of any party (as I still don't know if she decided to leave).

It is Annie who has decided to share every single dot and tittle of her thinking. Surely that gives the rest of us to ask questions and express our opinions. I have not said that she is either a Labour Saboteur, or a turn coat those are your words.

I am really only replying in kind to ABs comments. You may not agree with my thinking POGS but that, sadly as you appear to think it does, does not make you right; it just means you too have an opinion; one others may not agree with. Their right is to express it just as yours is there is no right to expect agreement.

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 14:27:11

I did so admire that woman Rosesarered

rosesarered Fri 05-May-17 14:18:03

Good idea! I shall do the very same ab smile

Anniebach Fri 05-May-17 14:16:30

Rosesarered, she has been baiting and attacking me on every thread for ages, I will not feed her need . I will follow Mrs Obama's wise words - when they go low we go high,
