Voting quandry

I'm a life-long Labour voter but cannot bear to suppprt Corbyn in the forthcoming election. The party will remain a shambles until it is under proper leadership and he seems to have totally lost the plot. I will not vote Conservative for many reasons and I feel betrayed by Theresa May's u-turn on Brexit, u-turn on not calling an election...there is no trust.

I will not abstain - the vote is a privilege. But for the first time I am seriously at a loss. There is no credible opposition. Locally there are no viable candidates that I feel I can endorse in order to make a point. I need to put my X in the box and it's the first time ever I've thought they are all as bad as each other.

I don't remember her being racist either, but there you go...hmm

Anniebach Wed 26-Apr-17 15:28:22

No, it is not a daft question, if the poster was not banned then to say she was is so wrong,

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 13:21:20

annie I am assuming so. But it seems a daft question. The point is a racist has gone. I haven't got a private line into GNHQs you know grin

Anniebach Wed 26-Apr-17 13:04:18

Was the poster banned?

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 13:01:55

You haven't answered POGS' question though, I notice.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 12:54:40

If you honestly believe that she was "hounded" off then you are not a very good judge of character. But I suppose you may be correct, either way I am pleased that such an unpleasant person no longer posts on here.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 12:32:02

No, I merely said she was hounded off.

In your post of 10.37 however, whitewave, you stated that she'd been banned.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 12:13:30

Don't know ask ana she seems to know

POGS Wed 26-Apr-17 11:50:20

I have to ask

How does a poster 'KNOW' for a fact another poster has been banned?

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 11:30:56

OK - but remember who brought the subject up - it wasn't me.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 11:29:44

And I wasn't her only supporter. Others, too, were dismayed by the way she was treated by certain posters.

Water under the bridge now though.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 11:25:07

Why? I am certainly not calling you a racist if that is what you are implying. I am trying to make sense as to why you found the banned persons rhetoric acceptable, to the extent that you think it is unfair that she was banned. You have never said a single racist thing as far as I am concerned so your support of her is puzzling.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 11:20:13

Oh, that's a bit of a low blow, even for you whitewave. In fact, I'd report it if I could be bothered, but I can't.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 11:14:37

Perhaps you are more accepting of the racist rhetoric, and so didn't see a problem with it?

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 11:13:27

You and I have different memories of the posts concerned then.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 11:08:48

Some things are against the law. And yes I am a passionate believer of free speech. But certainly not when it incites racial hatred,

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 10:51:41

I thought you believed in a free society with freedom of speech?

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 10:47:24

No ana she didn't stop. Her rhetoric was appalling and any thinking person could not have possibly have supported her.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 10:44:51

No, I'm not supporting racist and fascist rhetoric, and after she'd been warned by HQ she stopped. In the end, it seemed there was something 'wrong' with whatever she said and I never did understand why she was banned.

whitewave Wed 26-Apr-17 10:37:54

As I understood it ana that person was banned from GN because of the racist and fascist rhetoric. Are you supporting that? And just for your understanding I reported her once for racially offensive language but that was long before she was finally banned. She is the only person I have ever reported.

Ana Wed 26-Apr-17 10:34:23

Well, I can remember one or two who were hounded off by some because they were not welcome - I think at least one of them was a member of UKIP, which is apparently frowned upon...

Anniebach Wed 26-Apr-17 10:33:43

The Libs will not form a coalition with Corbyn, and I am quoting Vince Cable not giving my opinion

GracesGranMK2 Wed 26-Apr-17 10:28:40

Er...not quite sure it's the same thing. These new posters are obviously anti-tory (and probably anti-Brexit) but don't really care who we vote for as long as it's not tory.

Surely anyone who joins is welcome Ana?

NikkiW Wed 26-Apr-17 10:26:19

Thanks whitewave

NikkiW Wed 26-Apr-17 10:24:40

My preference of government would be a coalition of them all not one or the other, as one or the other doesn't represent the whole of the UK.
I'm voting for party policies that will benefit myself and my family. I did the quiz to see who I should vote for and it was the Green Party but as they don't have a chance my next best is Labour.

Policies not personalities!
