I really don't see why you would object to proper health and safety housing standards being rigorously enforced, in the same way that such standards are enforced for consumer issues.

The point of opposition to Grammar schools is that it isn't some communist levelling strategy, it is that grammar schools don't have the monopoly on educating 'clever' children. Comprehensive schools are perfectly capable of achieving the same results without being socially divisive. I have never known teachers so united against anything as their total opposition to the reintroduction of Grammar schools...

I will say again , I am not going to give a positive/nor negative reason why anybody should vote for ANY PARTY.

Jen, are you not capable of discussing fining rogue landlords in stead of you usual put downs , try this

A property for rent but in need of repair

The landlord chooses between paying a heavy fine or paying for repairs

He chooses paying for repairs

No fine and the rent is increased

The tenant chooses between reporting the landlord or remaining silent

She reports the landlord who has the right to end the tenancy , tenant is homeless

Chooses not to report the landlord and keeps the tenancy which means not being homeless

Like you, I wonder what J.C's take is re: private education?!
He went to private prep school himself then to a Haberdasher's school, now Grammar, which was also, as far as I know, fee-paying and still takes boarders for which fees are paid (for the boarding, not the education).

Perhaps he was something of a rebel and disliked his schools therefore does not think this type of school is 'best'.

Everyone wants the best education for their child and all schools should aspire to providing the best education - so why do so many people (including many Labour politicians) prefer to educate their children privately and not send them to their local state schools?

Niggly, these daily promises made by Corbyn are now so cloud cooko land . They are reaching realms of fantasy .

Are all these promises going to take place in five years ? No they are not.

Today heavy fines for rogue landlords , great idea, if given the choice of living in a house needing repairs or being homeless I would choose the former and I have been in that dilemma and did choose the former

Apparently Diane Abbott's son CHOSE his school, so that makes his private education acceptable!!!! Emily Thornberry wants the best (that money can buy) for her children, don't we all!! and as to Shammi? not sure what her excuse is!! Probably not wanting her son to mix with that motley crew at the local Comp!! Yet they all HATE Grammar Schools!! Only children of the super rich can benefit from a private education, God forbid any other children should! I have already given you my reason for not telling anybody how to vote, reason to vote for or against. How many times do you want to hear the same answer?

Look at my post to you on Sunday 17.21.

I have no intentions to tell anybody how to vote , promote one party or another but I will post if and when ' I ' choose to do so, usually if I see overt spin /activism and to be honest at times misleading information.

As for arguing about the word TELL , I have been posting in answer to personal questions made to myself. I would rather my initial post had not been turned into an education lesson but there you go.

This has reminded me of the head of my junior school, - I am NOT asking you I am TELLING you

All I will say is no I have not been a teacher but if my 'ignorant / uneducated thought is 'TELLING' somebody how to vote includes using terminologies such as "This why you shouldn't vote Tory" ," You need to vote tactically ", is somehow not 'TELLING' somebody what to do then as the saying goes ' My cocks a kipper'.

I really don't understand how the use of the word TELL/TELLING can be viewed differently, happy to be enlightened my school time education was pretty poor and I happy to acknowledge that, even if it makes some posters smugly happy .

I am even more confounded as to the use of the word TELL in these posts of yours durhamjen:-
