Ana, I think I was a little harsh about the 'hot air'. Could you just explain what the Conservative government has done that is no other government could do that is a good thing and also why they have done so many bad things such as trying to heal the issues of an international banking crisis on the backs of the poor and less able while cutting taxes that the rich benefit from but is still lauded by the right-wing press?

Otherwise, really any government would be better than the one we have it is just the right wing press who keep telling us they are wonderful and no one else has any ability at all.

Ana here is a simple explaination of right wing politics. Do you really believe that the Conservatives are not right wing and that there are not a proportion of them who are extremely in favour of the description below?

People who are right wing are in favour of ‘free market economics’. This is where private companies are unregulated so they are free to go about their business without any interference from the government, which is sometimes referred to as ‘the state’.

Right wing societies are based on a ‘survival of the fittest’ model where it is believed that the most talented and hard-working individuals will eventually become successful.

Right wing people believe that those who have earned lots of money should not be taxed disproportionately and deserve to enjoy the benefits that their wealth can bring such as being able to pay for a higher quality of education or healthcare.

I was just watching a pro-tory journalist doing the paper review on Sky who thinks she knows it all too. She was talking about dividing up sausages. Not only that but her answer to people not have the problem with odd sausages was to go out an earn enough to buy more sausages! Now where have we heard that before - Oh yes Ma Thatcher's trickle-down. And could they make that happen. NO THE CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENTS COULDN'T and there is no more reason to think it would be fairer under a May government that doesn't know ANYTHING about peoples lives outside the leafy avenues.

Having served in a government is not a prerequisite for becoming a member of the government frontbench. However, I am sure none of the rebels would give up a chance to be in Corbyn's cabinet if asked.

Whitewave, would labour be able to form a government now ? most of the shadow cabinet have only been MP's since the last election and very few are put forward for interviews, would Abbott really make a good Home Secretary ? This is not an attack on Corbyn or labour , I do doubt their ability and am concerned there is so little experience, not one has served in government

Yes, there are partisan posters on here. There are people who quite open about being on the left of the political spectrum and broadly supportive of Labour policies and there are people who have identified themselves as Conservative supporters. They tend not to consider themselves to be "far right" in the same way that those on the left tend not to consider themselves to be "far left".

If disagreeing with something and giving reasons why you disagree is "nit picking" and "point scoring" then so be it. But it happens on all sides of the debate and is not exclusive to one group of people. As for "name calling", there is some of that but, again, it is not exclusive to one group of people.

I shall do my very best to add to the Tory landslide as will all my family.

I wouldn't feel quite so bad if I thought that whilst I don't agree with Tory policies (whatever they are as none of us have a clue at the moment) I thought that those in power were half competent but not a single one have come up to scratch to date.

And it's no good anyone saying that Labour would be worse - I actually doubt it very much - the fact is at the moment it looks as if the Tory millstone will be around our necks for the next 5 years, and the further damage they will cause to my beloved country is beyond bearing.

You are not wrong varian but in my constituency you may not be right, sadly. I will do my best to keep the Tory landslide to the lowest possible numbers.

The only means we have to try to get a say in the final deal is to vote for the Liberal Democrats and hope enough are elected to put pressure on the government when the deal is known to put a meaningful choice to the people, the majority of whom may prefer to remain in the EU rather than irrevocably damage the future of our country.

I agree James. Why do we need to take the final decision away from the people and Parliament - are we children that we can't make it ourselves. May wants complete power to do what? We really know little about what the Conservatives intend to do when they get this landslide majority.

I have to agree Ana and full of links and reasons why Corbyn is doing so well,attracting crowds of thousands etc when it is practically certain that Labour will lose the GE.Wishful thinking I guess.
All some people can hope is that with a new Leader they may possibly win the next GE in five years time.Listening to a woman on local radio today that almost had Jezza moving in to number ten, you realise that there is a lot of 'in denial' going on.
