What a nice way to get back at Osborne for what he's writing in the Evening Standard.
He was trying to simplify things by the look of it.
I read an article about the fact that HMRC and the government will have to rewrite the tax laws, because the computers can't cope with all the changes since Cameron and pals took over. If the Tories get back in there will be another 100+ pages in the finance act.
There were 460 pages when they came in. Now there are 669, and soon there will be 776, if May has her way.
Senseless and stupid.

Just seen that with the changes the government had made so that you could earn up to £1000 and not have to complete a tax return has been axed.

Now you WILL be taxed on selling crafts online and renting out a room.

We get all our information from the media and it depends which media suits your mind set,which set of media you believe. Everyone says the Conservatives are this and will do this, and Labour are this and will do this. We all know how we want it to be, but none of us can see into the future and none of us know the truth about poverty or riches in this country as all our information is biased. Just go with your gut instincts, but do not keep saying one side is right and the other is wrong, because we really do not know.

No I am not saying that because Theresa May, may or may not want to keep everything secret, the other party may not be believed. I would believe it if the 'other party ' had said it openly themselves so that the accused could agree or rebuke their words/comments. I prefer to deal in factual evidence. Nobody can defend their position when people jump on the bandwagon without wanting factual evidence!

You and others on the other hand believe in listening to , reading the article by one German journalist who will not divulge his source.

As for ' formal negotiations ' being kept secret then I would have thought that would be good business practice and quite normal.

Brexit is looking as though it is not going to be along the lines of a 'formal negotiation' as widely understood as it would appear it is going to be a war on spin , personal attacks and leaks. I hope Michel Barnier shows if and when 'formal negotiations' start he will show more maturity than Juncker , I think he could well do so , I hope he will do so.

Well it seems there was a U-turn, but there is freedom for LA's to outsource to charities, whatever that means. Thank goodness that this stupid and dangerous idea has been abandoned. It is bad enough that prisons and other institutions are being sold off to enterprises like 4GS and Serco.

The article is dated 3 October 2016 Ginny. I thought it showed the direction of travel the Conservatives are intending to take.

It says proposed legislation is being debated in the House of Lords on 18 October, then it will pass to the Commons to be put into law. I can't find a date on the website. It does mean 2017?
