Thanks for the link Gracesgran. If this plan goes through, the care and wellbeing of thousands of vulnerable children will be handed over to private companies. Privatising the care of vulnerable children so presumably the government can wipe their hands of their responsibilities. A scandal of the highest proportions!

Bear this plan in mind when putting the cross on the voting paper. The Tories with the most right wing cabinet for decades seem to care so little for the wellbeing of children because theirs are very well provided for so it won't affect their families.

How can you prove the facts, POGS, if May wants to keep everything secret - including her visits to Scotland when electioneering?

I canvassed in Peterborough in the 70s, Hampshire in the 80s, Hull in the 90s. Didn't in York because by then I'd left the party because of the sainted Tony, who wants to make a comeback.

Even May should have realised that. She didn't have the doors slammed in her face; nobody opened the door to her!

I've never slammed the door on anyone; had a moan at the Labour canvassers for the local elections but what we moaned about will not get fixed whoever gets in. We didn't see anyone else (3 days to go). We know many of them anyway, of all parties and the independents.

The article in the German Paper was not based on 'factual evidence', some people don't require factual evidence it appears. Only one German Newspaper reported this unproven material and other media outlets do what they do best 'cover' other media outlets gossip .

It could a true analysis, it could be a load of old rubbish. One thing for sure those who have a dislike of Theresa May , The Tories will thrive on anything reported against her. That is fine but only if you can prove the facts.

This has been widely discussed topic all through today on t.v and to be honest even after listening to the German journalist who wrote the article he could only repeat his information was from reliable sources.

On another thread a poster gives the impression it was at Junckers behest but if that is true then the majority view of those debating it on t.v today thought 'if that was the case' then it shows more about Junckers way of doing politics and how the negotiations could shape up.

Naturally there are those who merrily jump on the bandwagon of the German Article to give them the opportunity to use it against Theresa May.

Jen you csnnot have canvassed , every constituency has Tories , you need to get out of your comfort zone . I have cavassed in Shropshire,Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Montgomeryshire, Breconshire, Radnorshire, Pembrokeshire , Carmarthenshire , Glamorganshire, Monmouthshire , good grief I even met Tories in strong South Wales constituencies .

Jalima , all of those but the inviting in is definitely the rarest , door slammed in face , ignoring the knock, some advice to would be canvassers, try to avoid tv soap times ,now there are so many this is difficult .

I tell them what they want to hear, "yes of course I will vote for you" close the door and say "in your dreams". Don't be fooled dj the public are just trying to get rid of you.

Depends who comes aknockin' Jalima! So far, only Greens and Lib have been around my area and I've kept both of them at the doorstep to talk to. If anyone called and said anything that really resonated with me, and I wanted to discuss further, I'd invite them in. Not happened so far though.

Canvassers never come to my door. I live in the same safe Labour seat as dj (and no, we've never met).

But with a new Labour candidate and emboldened tories I wonder if this GE might be different... I'd like them all to come and have a chat (except UKIP; I just couldn't face UKIP)
