Anyone got any information we can put onto this thread please?

durhamjen Mon 01-May-17 00:01:08

Telling people what to do is saying you MUST. Have I ever said that?

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 23:59:57

It isn't, POGS.
Saying you should do this or that is just suggesting.
You can quite easily say no I shouldn't, like you always do.

POGS Sun 30-Apr-17 23:48:41

Shows you dont get it!

You don't believe ' TELLING ' posters to ' vote tactically ' is 'TELLING ' posters how to vote either.

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 23:43:27

That's not telling anyone how to vote. There are lots of other parties available.

Chewbacca Sun 30-Apr-17 23:39:27

Talking about memories, I can't recall ever having told anyone how to vote.

Today 14.57 Just don't go and vote Tory

Jalima1108 Sun 30-Apr-17 23:37:35

and some of us will wait for the manifestos .......

so should get off the threads.

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 23:34:03

Sorry, Jalima.
Should I vote Conservative.
Yes, you should vote Conservative because....
No, you should not vote Conservative because....

If somebody asks you if they should do something you don't say just think about it and do what you want, do you?
You try and help them decide.

It's not my fault that nobody can tell them why they should vote Conservative.
I live in hope that someone will come up with some sort of positive response, but it hasn't happened so far. All that's happened is philosophical responses like yours.

Should I have another glass of wine?
Some of you will tell me I should and some of you will tell me I shouldn't.
Not telling you who I will take any notice of, yet.

Jalima1108 Sun 30-Apr-17 23:32:38

I think it comes down to semantics.

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 23:27:22

I was asking that, POGS, because I know daphne has done.
Your response says a lot about your character than mine.
And about your memory.
Talking about memories, I can't recall ever having told anyone how to vote. I've answered the questions put in the OPs. That's what I do.

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 23:05:02

" So how much research have you done on Nazism, POGS?"

Keep um coming , these sort of comments re Hitler, Fascism , Nazis say more about your character than it does about mine, not that you will agree .

Jalima1108 Sun 30-Apr-17 23:15:37

The title of the thread is:
Should I vote Conservative ?
which is quite clear and leaves people to ponder about whether they will or will not.

The title of the thread is not:
Why You Should Vote Conservative
or Why You Should Not Vote Conservative
which invites posters to tell other people why they should or should not vote Conservative.

if we are to be pedantic about it
The same applies to the thread:

Should I Vote Labour ?

The title of the thread:
Should You Vote Liberal ?
is phrased differently and is disappearing off the active list - is that an omen?

daphnedill Sun 30-Apr-17 22:56:02.

" PS.Has it ever occurred to you that not everybody responds to bullying?"

Bullying!

Ye Gods

" POGS I think you should do some serious research about the nature of democracy, because your understanding would appear to be very shallow."

Yes well your interpretation of what constitutes as shallow is different to mine.

POGS Sun 30-Apr-17 23:05:20

durhamjen

Yes I've got it.

I think you need to refresh your memory of posts that you have indeed 'TOLD' posters how to vote/ who to vote for.

GOT IT?

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 23:05:02

So how much research have you done on Nazism, POGS?

POGS Sun 30-Apr-17 23:02:13

daphnedill Sun 30-Apr-17 22:35:37

" trisher I think your question has been answered. Quite clearly some people don't realise the link between between what May is doing and the rise of Nazism."

You too have lost the plot but it's not the first time if my memory serves me well.

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 22:59:31

Daphne, you are aware that you are going to get lots of people complaining that you have suggested that their brains are smaller than those of goldfish. Be prepared.

POGS Sun 30-Apr-17 22:58:00

trisher

" Does no-one realise the link with Hitler and fascism? "

Why do some left wing posters keep using Hitler and fascism at the drop of a hat.

If that's the strength of your argument , YOU'VE FAILED.

daphnedill Sun 30-Apr-17 22:56:02

PS.Has it ever occurred to you that not everybody responds to bullying?

daphnedill Sun 30-Apr-17 22:54:45

POGS I think you should do some serious research about the nature of democracy, because your understanding would appear to be very shallow.

daphnedill Sun 30-Apr-17 22:53:20

Ginny42 I'm not TM's mindreader any more than anybody else (although some seem convinced she knows what she's doing and why).

Whatever the reason for calling this election, it's obvious to anybody with a brain bigger than a goldfish that it's not about for the reason she gave. The EU couldn't care less about the size of her majority.

TM has called the election, because she's almost guaranteed a bigger majority in the Commons while the opposition is weak. She's facing disgruntlement from her own back benchers, which is why Conservative HQ is imposing so many SPADs on vacant seats. Goodness knows what she's planning.

She will probably go down in history as one of the worst PMs ever, but there's little anybody can do about it, except to continue opposing what the "nasty" party wants by whatever means.

It's worrying that the calibre of politicians in all parties is low. If TM and her pathetic front bench is the best we can come up with, I really do fear for the future of our country.

The prediction is that the LibDems will pick up 20 seats maximum, but with Kippers returning to the Conservative fold that doesn't bode well for an opposition.

durhamjen Sun 30-Apr-17 22:51:17

Q. Should I vote Conservative?
A. You should/should not vote Conservative because.....

is not TELLING anyone how to vote.
It is ANSWERING the question.

Got it?

POGS Sun 30-Apr-17 22:42:48

" In fact, please can you tell those of us who are reading this thread why we should vote Tory, because nobody has so far."

As posts are being repeated on threads I will again repeat what I have said on another thread.

Perhaps they are not interested , not 'activists' and couldn't care if anybody doesn't follow their choice of whom to vote for. Have no interest in ' TELLING' anybody how to vote. You certainly won't find any post to date nor in the past where I have ever 'TOLD' anybody how to vote.

It's called democracy, you have one vote, you have a choice, you decide by gleaning as much information as you can.

Hopefully it won't be by reading the likes of squawkbox, the canary, anotherangryvoice, JackofKent Or what I call possibly a fat bloke eating pizza in a chair.

daphnedill Sun 30-Apr-17 22:35:37

trisher I think your question has been answered. Quite clearly some people don't realise the link between between what May is doing and the rise of Nazism.

It's ironic really, because they're the first people to bleat on about democracy, but don't seem to realise that democracy is being undermined.

Ginny42 Sun 30-Apr-17 22:26:46

Thanks for the link DJ. I had wondered if the very snap GE was to give her a way out of hard Brexit. She didn't want to leave the EU, she wanted to be PM. She's now realised it's far more complex than anyone ever imagined and if she ends up with a reduced majority, she's got the excuse not to be going for a hard Brexit. Now I'm wondering if she knew the fan is about to distribute an enormous amount of $hit re her husband's business deals.
