Headline saying Macron wins.
Off to check details.

Blimey, peaseblossom! Who's been rattling your cage?

I see many of these things reported on Facebook

Probably specially targeted at you. I don't see them on my Facebook timeline.

Peaseblossom what does this have to do with M. Macron and the French election? I think this is on the wrong thread.

Maybe Peaseblossom is a Matine Le Pen supporter and having a go at the French electorate? Who knows?

Perhaps she's giving an explanation for LePen's support ie immigration.

I'd be interested to know exactly how he got to where he is n o t j u st the spin

quizqueen I totally agree with you. It amazes me how deluded people are about the EU which is run by people who are unelected. How anyone can be happy with them dictating to us is beyond me. Anyone who does not agree with the liberal loony left ideology is called far right or bigot or racist. Ludicrous.

Peaseblossom you might be interested to know that Marine LePen has decided the EU is a good thing and she no longer wants a referendum!

I would be very pleased if you could explain to me who is NOT elected in the EU as I was under the impression that the MEPs are elected - I have voted for a few in my time - and the Council is made up of representatives of the 28 countries all selected by the countries themselves. The Beauricrats have no votes or any real say - they are Civil Servants and have the same function as the UK Civil Service has in Britain. The main difference is that there are far fewer of them for a much bigger democracy.
One of the originators of the United Europe idea was Winston Churchill who saw it as the best way to stop countries of Europe going to war with each other - they had been doing this for hundreds of years. So far this uniting idea has paid dividends as far as wars are concerned.

On a very serious matter (Paris climate agreement), beautifully spoken.

On a trivial note, I can so understand what Brigitte sees in him! (sex appeal!)
