Errrmmm...the Three Day Week was ordered by a Conservative government to conserve energy. Inflation was out of control as a result of economic mismanagement. The NUM called a strike, because their wages were falling way behind inflation. The government's own pay body reported that the miners had a case.
Hmmm! Baffling! In what way do you consider yourself a socialist?
23.07.53 your post daphnedil Since I haven't said any insults your last post doesn't make sense either! Instead of jumping in with both feet anytime I say anything perhaps you ought to check my posts first.
TriciaF, now I understand, yes I know members who left at that time, many came back when .kinnock and then Blair became leaders, now we are back to the seventies . Seems the three day week, strikes etc , power of the unions are forgotten , back to state controlled
GG2 Apology accepted Annie - I left the party in the early '80s, when I first thought they were starting to lose their way (remember those who left in 1981.)
On the contrary,GG2 - calm down! I was puzzled by it. I like Corbyn, rejoined the LP to vote for him. His speech was excellent, just didn't see the point of the cheering. Or was that added afterwards?
Did anyone listen to Corbyn's speech with the Rentacrowd?
Such sad comments don't do anything except perhaps make you feel clever Tricia. I think, whether you like him or hate him you are really living in unreality if your think he needs such a thing. Sad, sad, sad.
I will now read all your posts as if they are not based on reality.
Did anyone listen to Corbyn's speech with the Rentacrowd? I'm not sure where or when it was recorded - probably at a Yorkshire University. Just heard it on LBC. I honestly don't think that's the way to influence people to vote for him. Could be wrong. Husband says T. May will use the same technique - I'm not so sure.
No, they're not all personal opinions, roses. Some of us seek the opinions of others and try to understand what's going on - for the good of the country and everyone living here. You should try it some time. Life outside your bubble might be quite enlightening.
If you know anyone who rents and has moved since the referendum, make sure they are eligible to vote. One week left to sign up to it. Apparently there are about 2 million voters who have moved since then.
