That's a bum, can anyone cut and paste or something the manifesto that took me blood sweat and tears to do this morning please!!!???

GracesGranMK2 Fri 26-May-17 13:19:08

I agree Prosecco and angelab, he said something that needs to be said. I notice a lot of virtue waving by the right at this point but Corbyn was very careful in his use of language and we should not put anything out of discussion or we are giving up our democracy.

rosesarered Fri 26-May-17 13:19:07

Exactly ab
However quite what his alternative approach would be and how it would help is very doubtful. The security forces in all EU countries are doing all they can.You cannot hope to stop these hatefilled IS supporters, even if you never get involved in any wars abroad ( and sometimes you have to) because what they hate is the West and all it's values.
If there was any easy way to stop it, it would be stopped.
Corbyn is using what has happened to try and cement his support....IMHO it will backfire on him.

That was about your Fri 26-May-17 12:39:34 post AB

GracesGranMK2 Fri 26-May-17 13:15:21

Lord Calise has critcised Corbyns speech , claims it is an insult to the people of Manchester . Farron has also spoken out against the speech. Calise said he was fighting the battle of Argincourt

AB it is an election - what would you expect them to say? Look what you say in order to stop Jeremy Corbyn, and by default the Labour Party, being elected. Just because they say it about a leader of another party really doesn't make it right.

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 13:05:25

I am not against him making his speech , it is the timing which has sickened me

nightowl Fri 26-May-17 13:02:32

For once rosesarered I have to agree with you. Maybe I am fortunate to know some lovely young people. I still wish we could set a better example than seems to be the case.

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 13:00:51

mine, I chose not to listen to him, just as I chose not to listen to Nutall yesterday, I cannot support using the Manchester deaths to win votes .the beareved have only had Tuesday,Wednesday ,Thursday of grief and shock ,

It will have to be debated but dear god, the victims haven't even been buried, the country is in shock and yet using this atrocity to win votes is acceptable? Not for me

angelab Fri 26-May-17 12:55:13

I agree, prosecco, it is time to have an alternative approach and surely now is a good time, not bad time, to discuss that?

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 12:52:44

IFS has condemned both labour and Tory spending plans in their manifestos , labours spending will increase taxes to the eighties level

minesaprosecco Fri 26-May-17 12:49:51

Do you disagree with what he said, Anniebech? Because, in my opinion, he's spoken the truth and it's about time someone did.

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 12:39:34

Lord Calise has critcised Corbyns speech , claims it is an insult to the people of Manchester . Farron has also spoken out against the speech. Calise said he was fighting the battle of Argincourt

No hate and bile, just sickened he has used the murders to win votes, he couldn't even wait untill the victims have been buried

rosesarered Fri 26-May-17 12:24:41

Probably just the ones you know nightowl because what a lot of them put on Mumsnet and facebook etc make GN look like a church picnic.

nightowl Fri 26-May-17 12:21:26

The hate and bile on these threads become more palpable by the day. I feel ashamed to be associated with some of my own generation. Thank god for young people, or the ones I know anyway.

rosesarered Fri 26-May-17 12:13:09

The rich and the old MaizieD grin that wouldn't be enough to get them into power.

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 12:12:47

Critcism of May, Farron, Sturgeon is constructive critcism

Criticism of St Jeremy is hate and bile

grin

rosesarered Fri 26-May-17 12:10:47

That's a spurious claim MaizieD as students and their families would have come out in droves to vote if the Conservatives had ever put the idea of 'free for all' forward, of course they would!

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 12:09:16

If labour did win and no tuition fees come September for England what about Welsh students ? Corbyn hasn't mentioned extra money for Welsh labour to do the same - the many not the few !

rosesarered Fri 26-May-17 12:08:42

GGM2 most of the time I ignore your posts, but really! You say being condemnatory and rude those of you who don't take others opinions seriously
Where exactly are you seeing that? What rude posts have you received, because I am not seeing any.
....and it's McDonnell not McDonald ( annie uses it for fun) wink

POGS Fri 26-May-17 12:08:39

GG MK 2

Believe me I am not laughing !

MaizieD Fri 26-May-17 11:55:43

If there could have been no tuition fees for all, other governments including Labour would have done it, what a vote winner!

The tory government didn't do it because it conflicted directly with their belief in 'austerity' economics.

The votes it 'might' have won them would be those of students. Tories aren't interested in students because they don't vote in sufficient numbers. They are far more interested in getting the votes of the rich and the old.

angelab Fri 26-May-17 11:04:35

The labour party is not all about JC, any more than the conservatives are about TM, so whether you like him personally is irrelevant (or should be).

Are you really suggesting that it would be better if the labour party lost, than to win with him as leader? as a labour party member??

angelab Fri 26-May-17 11:02:34

Really Annie, as I said in my post - it's not a joke.

The two situations aren't even comparable - N Ireland is part of the UK and at some point there had to be talks.

Anniebach Fri 26-May-17 10:35:49

Why is it a joke Angelab, the IRA were invited five weeks after the Brighton bombings . Corbyn is using the Manchester murders in his bid to win votes and I am accused of pouring out bile? I am sickened by it .

It has to be discussed but not as a means to win votes , dear God people are grieving, brightened, angry and Corbyn is stoking the flames , the only other leader to do so is UKIP

Carry on your praise and defence of this man, it sickens me

GracesGranMK2 Fri 26-May-17 10:23:44

It isn't just ridiculous, angelab, it comes from pure hate; it is a hateful statement.

AB please explain how making such a statement is appropriate after the deaths of people who will support all the parties and none. You are talking for no one else, just pouring out your bile.

angelab Fri 26-May-17 10:16:44

"Come the labour win ISIS will be in Westminster for a cuppa" - sorry AB, that is just a ridiculous statement, not even worthy of being an opinion - or a joke.
