Is it too late for a U turn on Brexit or at least watering it down?

We oldies need to admit we got it wrong about leaving the eu, we are putting our young family members future at risk. Unity is now priority

The deep concerns by commerce, industry & farmers on our economy and hard times ahead should not be lightly dismissed.
The horrors of this week have highlighted the need for much closer unity with our neighbours in Europe. We cannot gamble on a hard Brexit to resolve differences, we need to stop and rethink how we can resolve our differences without the extremism of Brexit. Is it too late or can we save ourselves from a possible disaster? To do otherwise could be taking a gamble we just cannot afford to take on our young families future.

I am not prepared to leave it to Teresa May and trust her hard Brexit colleagues. Therefore I shall not vote for her type of Brexit.

Also, encourage your grandchildren to vote if they are old enough. I've been campaigning for Labour and my favourite doorstep conversation was with woman who said she was going to consult her 3 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren about how they were voting and do likewise.

Oh, sorry, GG. There was nothing wrong with your post at all. It just renewed for me all the frustration I've felt over the past 11 months about the Leave vote. That we're heading for economic disaster on the basis of lies etc. And that the person leading the move to disaster is the incompetent who fuelled the lies about immigration by not applying the EU 'rules' when she could well have done so.
But, this has been gone over many times on here so I won't start again sad

She must be very old, Jess, to have 7 great grandchildren all old enough to vote!

It is really worrying that recently May, who had intended that this election should be about Brexit, when under fire from those wishing to seek more clarification about her Brexit stance - simply cut and ran back to her car. She hasn't for one single second addressed the issues except the usual Manta and cliches.

Now I understand the wall and head feeling Maisie. Thanks for explaining.

Word has it that any civil servant who tries to explain the reality to Maybot over Brexit is immediately frozen out. What a way to approach the most difficult important negotiations of our lifetime.

ninny Mon 05-Jun-17 15:06:56

Rubbish how do you know.

Ana Mon 05-Jun-17 15:09:24

'Word has it...' grin

whitewave Mon 05-Jun-17 15:16:55

I read the papers . Don't you? Oh no clearly not or else you would know what I am talking about. Duh!!!

GracesGranMK2 Mon 05-Jun-17 15:17:33

I can believe it whitewave and you, me and the probable civil servants are not the only ones who have noticed May's actual personality rather than the one she tried to sell us.

She keeps talking about how she is the person to take tough decisions but one thing that has become crystal clear is that don't for heaven sake question the tough decision that she has made; that's the last thing you're supposed to do. She doesn't want to answer questions; she runs away from scrutiny; if she wants credit for taking tough choices, which I'm prepared to give her then she needs to accept that she needs accountability.

That was from the Margaret Beckett interview I referred to on another thread. I expect Ninny will say that is rubbish too but I have no doubt there will be little actual contribution to the discussion.

I am waiting with baited breath for you to say something intelligent ana I think I shall be waiting for some time don't you?

Ana Mon 05-Jun-17 15:43:42

Water off a duck's back, whitewave, but carry on. I'm not the only one who thinks some of your posts are ludicrous, but there again it's only GN!

whitewave Mon 05-Jun-17 15:46:21

Still waiting ana

Ana Mon 05-Jun-17 16:06:02

Me too - for some original thoughts from you whitewave.

whitewave Mon 05-Jun-17 16:18:57

At least I am thinking.

Ana Mon 05-Jun-17 16:20:08

Really?

whitewave Mon 05-Jun-17 16:39:20

ana Well I am now going back to ignoring your remarks just as I did a few days ago when you were following me around and sniping at every opportunity.

ana your posts are beginning to feel like harassment if not bullying - I would like to request you to stop. I will reciprocate. If you don't feel up to stopping perhaps we could arbitrate with GNHQ?

Ana Mon 05-Jun-17 16:43:50

And I'm supposed to just accept your opinions of my intelligence, am I? Talk about pot and kettle...

rosesarered Mon 05-Jun-17 17:16:14

whitewave your post of 15.24.06 which was insulting to Ana is what started things off..........if you are going to post comments like that to posters what do you expect? Yes, do stop!!

rosesarered Mon 05-Jun-17 17:20:16

I expect GNHQ would say don't say things like 'I am waiting with baited breath for you to say something intelligent etc' ww they are hardly likely to be sympathetic to you.

MaizieD Mon 05-Jun-17 21:04:06

"It's easier to fool the people than convinced them they have been fooled in the first place"

varian Mon 05-Jun-17 21:12:19

So true ww

ninny Mon 05-Jun-17 21:22:56

Margaret Beckett was a Labour MP so obviously biased against Theresa May.

ninny Mon 05-Jun-17 21:39:52
