How is providing free school meals to all primary children regardless of their parents' income going to help the struggling finances of schools? It's the people who dis honestly claim benefits, benefits that they don't need and are not entitled too who are taking money away from those who need it. It's those who will not work, who do not make NI contributions but make use of the NHS who are robbing us of it.

Hopefully she will be voted in because heaven help us all if its Corbyn.

There isn't only one way to manage an economy Smileless and some of the ways people try don't work. This one isn't working. The debt is growing and it isn't helping the citizens. It doesn't matter how rich you make one man if all the others are starving.

Is Canada's fiduciary system held up to ridicule? No, it is rarely mentioned. If you talk about socialism in practice you would perhaps mention Sweden; Canada is well know as a basically Liberal country. That is the level of borrowing we are talking about - not something the rest of the world would even blink at.

Please do not keep repeating lies. In a previous thread it was pointed out that the level of fraud is so low, in a comparatively low area of out of work benefits that it would make little difference. If you can show this is not correct please do so. Otherwise, like some of the worst of our newspapers you are out to mislead.

Several people on here and other threads have posted links and graphs to illustrate the actual facts of what is and has happened with our economy. Those who support the Conservative Party have pointedly avoided addressing any of these facts and figures but have continued to post derisive remarks and silly pictures - and then try and present themselves as victims when people respond unfavourably.

When a government prioritises giving financial protection to a small section of the population whose income has substantially increased, in some cases tenfold, while the very poorest people in our society have seen their incomes fall significantly, then I can't see how such policies can be justified.

With reference to Benefit Fraud, I cannot see how 4.6 billion in benefit fraud is peanuts. Same as 34 billion in tax evasion. These figures for 2015 and no doubt lots higher now. A lot of hardworking people, pethhaps working for low wages, help provide it. They are whom I feel sorry for, the workers.

So lucky what is your solution to this problem of tax evasion, aggresive tax avoidance and benefit fraud?

Whitewave I wish I had the perfect answer. To those sick people that fake it,hopefully medical assessments would help,tgose that won't work as opposed to can't, they find it a lot easier to slob around. Housing benefi fraud, some claiming for every borough in London as highlighted in a tv documentary.recently, it's massive. Sharing of information, between authorities, this should be easy on computer, best solution is to have an ID card, I don't mind having one, nothing to hide, only the shifty need worry, this would stop multiple claims. It would be stamped each time benefit claim was processed and approved. For tax evasion, clever accountancy is now being looked at, the super rich have got away with so much. People genuinely in need are being short changed by these fraudsters, at all levels, they need the stiffest penalties.

Luckylegs I spent nearly two years slobbing around (as you so charmingly express it) after working full-time for over 35 years. I had paid tax and NICs and worked bloody hard, so had earned my benfits. I wasn't well, but apparently wasn't ill enough to claim ESA, so I spent most of my slobbing around time looking for work - sending off CVs, making phone calls, searching online, going to employment agencies etc - until I decided the only solution was to work for myself.

I would love you to experience just a little of what I went through, because you quite obviously don't have a clue.

It is difficult to find out much about it as I have only heard one question asked of a Labour MP who couldn't say anything and the left wing press appear not to be reporting it, unless I am missing reports which is perfectly possible.

Land value tax is to be reviewed. That does not of course that the right wing press won't try to make out something that it isn't. But there is nothing to report at the moment - rather like Mays potential tax rises.

It would be a replacement for council tax, and would be paid by the owner. Those who rent would not pay.
