No, I've no idea how much an OU degree costs now daphnedill, what's your point?
The majority of large newspapers use political cartoons trisher as satire; some of them have been award winners. You may feel my post regarding a lack of civility in light of the post which contained that picture as a bit rich but I disagree. I do think that you making me personally responsible for your GC's education or lack of it is more than a bit rich.
I don't consider that I'm an expert and don't regard you as one either.

A Labour Government.
(1001 Posts)I am seriously getting worried, that that joke Corbyn might end up running he country, which will within months, put a new social policy in place to be paid for by the ones that work, and on their knees knees already, borrowing money, left right and centre, so that llike every labour government in history leave us in massive debts that will increase until, once again the country votes conservative to sort it all out. I probably won't be here it see that happen. I notuce the frugal life style Blair had, an example to all labour voters. He and his very rich family did very well out of it, pity the country didn't, particularly those youngsters sent to Iraq.
Satire is fine but don't then start complaining that there are personal remarks made. You can't post comments like that and then moan about other people.
As I said before I've respect for anyone who accepts the results of their actions but this "it isn't happening, it's only managing the economy" approach is laughable. Ostriches and heads in the sand comes to mind.
If you vote for a party whose policies damage my GCs education are you not responsible? I thought that was the whole basis of democracy.
I haven't said I am an expert I quoted the NUT many headteachers and other experts who know about the damage school cuts will cause.
Corbyn has said he will go on the debate tonight, and has challenged May to join him.
I was hoping he would.
And I haven't said that I'm an expert either trisher but that didn't stop you implying that I was claiming to be one. It isn't very nice when people put words into your mouth is it?
Why does someone who doesn't agree with you remind you of "ostriches and heads in sand". I have no problem in taking responsibility for my decisions and actions. I hope you'll be able to the same if Labour wins this election and all those promises never come to fruition.
If the education system fails under a Labour gov. who will you be blaming then?
Off out for lunch now and some shopping. Catch up later.
Daphndill, you make too many assumptions and obviously didn't read my post. Genuine Job Seekers should have help, I never implied otherwise, I said those that won't work. You know nothing of my circumstances, or the hardships I had when young with 2 young children to support alone. I just know that everything taken out is paid by the it workers and you have to be realistic. Before you sit in judgement, read what is says don't guess what's between the lines, because no doubt as in your attacking stance, you are way off mark. Just because you had two years, lots have far worse to cope with and get on with it. If able to work you should, know it's not easy, that us why many of us had to take jobs that others wouldn't do for low wage, until that job we were qualified for materialised. In future read what's written or do not comment.
lucky you seem very exercised by a very small minority of what you term as work shy. Very little would be accomplished in the financial sense if all benefit was stopped to these people. It stops in any case after 6 months. Your energy would be much better directed at all tax evaders. Now there is really something to get your teeth into and extremely financially rewarding. Just think of how much less tax we would all have to pay if the correct tax was collected.
So how do you distinguish between those who won't work and those who are genuinely looking for work? People stigmatise the unemployed, however hard they try.
Actually, luckylegs, you've annoyed me even more now, because you don't know the details of my circumstances either, but I do know that I came across too many people with the same attitude as you.
My point Smileless is that an OU degree was cheap when you did one, compared with today's costs.
Well that would depend on your level of income wouldn't it daphnedill, it wasn't cheap for us because our level of income wasn't that high; affordable, just but by no means cheap.
Smileless2012 you said
If I really believed that the only way of providing my GC and all their generation of a decent education was having a labour guilty gov. with Corbyn as PM then I'd vote labour. I don't believe that to be the case.
I then provided you with numerous people who have said what will happen and how bad cuts will be. I suppose there are people who still believe the earth is flat.
But I do wish you would stop harping on about how well the Tories mange the economy. They don't. They do cut taxes, cut services and cut benefits and if that's the sort of society you want that's fine. Personally I will fight for the sort of society I was brought up in. I still believe in "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. and care and support "from the cradle to the grave" And that's the sort of society I want for my GCs
Yes, I agree that there still appear to be people who believe that the earth is flat but I'm not one of them. As for 'harping on' I mentioned once and once only in an earlier post that the Tories are managing the economy; I didn't say they were doing so well. I don't understand why you insist on associating me with things that I haven't said.
How many times have you referred to your GC's education trisher?, certainly more than once which to some may look as if you're harping on.
Tell me, where does "to each according to his need" fit into a manifesto that pledges free childcare to all, regardless of whether they need it (because they can't afford it) or not.
I have just looked at some of the followers on Corbyn twitter thread. Blimey!!!!!
I am impressed
Luvvies?
I do wonder whether May would be better having an early night to be honest as she looked proper poorly today I thought.
I expect Rudd will be sent in during the Brexit negotiations if the begin to challenge May, she seems to go totally rigid if she's questioned too hard.
Daphne, you really are very rude. You jumps on a point and stretch it out if all proportion.
I did not harp on about the unemployed, they were mentioned, you can take anything and twist it to fit your agenda. I have no interest in running for Prime Minister, I just look at the general policies and see if they are realistically possible and put my point over. Everyone, is entitled to that. I only object to Corbyn looking a scruffy so and so, because appearances do matter, his shady past and his inability to support his claims with actual figures, but it is too much for him and Dianne, she can't even find her way to the microphone.
Whitewave, you are arguing with yourself, I wish the tax evaders could be caught.
Wish we could have ID cards as I mentioned, only those with something to hide would be worried..
Daphne, why get really annoyed about someone's comment, think of your blood pressure, like you I am faceless on here, so chill.
Your words are designed to hurt Luckylegs. Don't play all innocent. There are too many selfish and self-centred people in the world, who seem to think they're superior to others.

I have no intentions of voting labour. There are many many reasons why not, which are of course political. One that springs to mind right now though is I can't even stand the sight of the fella, couldn't stand the sight of Blair either.
saak I am amazed
