One of the statements in that DM article said that the drugs bill has risen by 50% in the last five years.
I thought that sounded a lot, so I checked up on the pharmaceutical journal and found this.
"Overall the NHS in England spent £15.5bn on medicines in 2014–2015 — a rise of 19.4% since 2010–2011, the figures reveal."
Wouldn't you be very surprised, like me, if it had risen 50% from 2012-17?
I think Paul Dacre makes things up, and doesn't get his journalists to check up on their facts.
