My prediction( not hope) is for TM to have about a 40/50 overall majority. I reserve the right to change this prediction up to the announcement of the exit poll. Anybody else have a prediction?

But, who cares what Emily Thornbury thinks of anyone?

durhamjen Thu 08-Jun-17 00:00:45

This is what Emily Thornberry thinks of May and the way she has behaved.

Corbyn is not confrontational as May is and is IMO more likely to engage in productive talks over Brexit. Threats and platitudes about Brexit Means Brexit will get nowhere.
She inspires no confidence in me at all. Backtracking, mind-changing and repeating herself endlessly (Strong and Stable ad nauseum) without any substance to the manifesto - signs of good leadership? Really? Moreover she's homed in almost exclusively on Brexit - one wonders why she can't be drawn on anything much else...

Corbyn has my vote. He always did.

Surveymonkey/ Sun just a four point lead for the Conservatives: CON 42%(-2), LAB 38%(nc), LDEM 6%(nc), UKIP 4%(nc). Implied Tory maj.20

...can't find it now....cup of tea and bed for me, I think. Will be a long day/night tomorrow....

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 21:54:49

Most polls only sample 2000 voters. That means 3-4 per constituency.

Tegan2 Wed 07-Jun-17 21:50:51

I think it's 10/1 on on a tory win.

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 21:42:12

Well, I've seen what they call a Comres eve of election poll, but it does not give dates and directs me to one four days old.
So can you tell me which one you've seen, Tegan.
Aren't you interested in betting? What are the betting shops saying?

Tegan2 Wed 07-Jun-17 20:53:41

According to the latest poll I've seen Rigby is right and I'm inclined to agree. What that means for the future of this country I can't even begin to imagine but, if that's what people want, sobeit. The next couple of years are going to be very interesting to say the least. However, as with brexit, the percentage of people concerned about having each party leader as PM seems to be 50/50 on most issues which means that, even if the Conservatives get a huge majority 50% of the people aren't happy with what they're doing at any given time .And if, as seems likely, there is a breakaway centre group formed, what about the people who voted Labour because of Corbyns ideas and ideologies?

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 20:32:24

Rigby, are you really Paul Waugh of Huffpost?
He's the only other person I have read who has said 80.

Take notice of this, and I will be right.

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 19:32:26

I agree with this.

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 19:30:06

So what has May managed to do to make you increase your number, Rigby?

varian Wed 07-Jun-17 19:28:14

For most of my 70+ years I have been an optomist, but I'm afraid after the ghastly events of last year I have become a pessimist.

I am afraid that TM and her dreadful party will win. I hope me prediction is wrong.

rosesarered Wed 07-Jun-17 19:05:22

Blimey! You're hopeful.

Rigby46 Wed 07-Jun-17 18:52:01

If anything,dj I would up the majority to nearer 80 now

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 18:46:42

Have you changed your prediction yet, Rigby?
I am still on for Labour having a small majority.

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 18:44:44

The best tweet on Corbyn's rainbow and May's van was "Looks like God is voting Labour."

Another one was "M6 blocked by huge metaphor."

durhamjen Wed 07-Jun-17 18:36:36

I find this frightening.

I wish I could post the link to Jaoob Rees Mogg wearing the biggest rosette I've ever seen anyone wear; have been having many chuckles over it.....

skwawkbox.org/2017/06/07/video-signs-even-their-heartlands-that-the-tories-will-be-sweating-ge17/

To cheer Labour followers up, and watch a silly Tory who happens to be the MP for Keighley saying what he thought the crowd wanted to hear.

phoenix Wed 07-Jun-17 16:13:52

BBC Labour biased shock first I've heard of it.

Rigby46 Wed 07-Jun-17 16:02:03

Just like TM then

rosesarered Wed 07-Jun-17 15:05:20

He enjoys preaching to the converted, less heckling.

rosesarered Wed 07-Jun-17 15:04:42

Why would it please me devongirl hmm I don't mind where he goes, but in order to attract crowds and look good he only goes to Labour places.

trisher Wed 07-Jun-17 14:56:46

Haven't things changed? At the start of this election there were people saying no one wanted Corbyn and no one would vote for him. Now he has record crowds it's because he only goes where the Labour vote is strong. TM and Boris of course only perform to invited audiences and they aren't that big.
