I'm not saying I disagree with that - who would disagree that the future of our country depends on the education of our young people? Not necessarily through a university education though.

Who introduced fees and loans in the first place?
Who encouraged half of all young people to go to university?

Like the WASPI women now, there would be a large group of in-betweeners who would be angry and disaffected - between the pre-loan/fee group of university-educated older people (possibly only about 5% of that age group) and those of the present generation of young people who would be loan-free.

Bribing grey voters, bribing young people. Lots of bribing going on.

I am neither so cannot be bribed.

I prefer to view the tuition fees as investing in our youth. They are our future and we need an educated population. Not just to educate them for work, but for them to have the very best education for themselves.

I think the problem may be that extreme language is your way of everyday speaking but none of these extremes happened on here until you joined the thread.

Gillybob....just supposing your sister had done a postal vote .....her name would,nt then be on the list at the polling booth I don,t think, as her sealed vote would have been sent already. I don,t know this for certain but it stands to reason to me.

DD canvassed for Labour in Manchester Gorton - twice, because the original by election was cancelled. About 30% of Gorton constituents are students plus the non-student young residents. It's one of the youngest constituencies in the country.

Support for Labour was strong even before the manifestos, although there was a wobble when the LDs got off to a flying start.

Students didn't actually believe that Labour would be able to abolish fees and many of them didn't see it as fair anyway, because it wouldn't benefit those who don't go to uni or those who have already paid off their debts.

Gorton is a Labour stronghold anyway, but there was an increased majority. DD spoke to hundreds of them. The reason people voted Labour was because they wanted change and Corbyn gave them some hope.

Just joined this thread. I slept through it and woke up to Son of Brexit. Gillybob yout first post was spot on. It's Lalaland.

How does JC think he would have been able to execute his manifesto without plunging the country into deepest debt.

Whoever is in power cannot resolve the dire problems of the NHS until someone's has the sense to totally reform the system - get rid of over massively oversubscribed, overpaid inefficient management. Put in place a small payment for treatment received, get people to take some responsibility for themselves. Perhaps then the deeply put upon medical profession can get on with their excellent jobs.

Now if Anthony Joshua were standing for any party he might get my vote

The name is on the list, but obviously not crossed off. The list is the electoral role. Names are crossed off to stop people trying to defraud the system, by claiming to be somebody they're not.

So all goes well - then the spite and personal attacks and now the pictures. Nothing has changed except a few posters have joined in who were not on this thread before.
