The exit pole predicting no overall majority.

whitewave Thu 08-Jun-17 23:03:53

Labour hold - but not such good news for Labour apparently sad

GracesGranMK2 Thu 08-Jun-17 23:03:42

Newcastle not following the exit pole.

Ginny42 Thu 08-Jun-17 23:02:53

Labour held Newcastle

durhamjen Thu 08-Jun-17 23:02:41

It's a bit chilling watching police with guns walking round at Sunderland.

Chi Onwurah first to be elected for Newcastle. They beat Sunderland to the count.
Majority more than all the other parties put together.

Ginny42 Thu 08-Jun-17 23:01:49

Newcastle first to declare.

minesaprosecco Thu 08-Jun-17 23:01:34

I thank you, mcem

whitewave Thu 08-Jun-17 22:59:50

Whatever happens there is no landslide - I reckon May is toast

Ginny42 Thu 08-Jun-17 22:59:46

Paxman has just said there could be 80 seats too close to call.

Ginny42 Thu 08-Jun-17 22:57:38

No going to bed tonight folks! Hung parliament would be fantastic result. It has to be said that Theresa May had a dreadful campaign. Apparently the Sunderland count is usually the first out, but the turnout was far higher than usual. Expect all counts are going to take longer. Thornbury has just said, 'I think she should go'.

mcem Thu 08-Jun-17 22:55:15

Magnificent typo/Freudian slip prosecco!

Tegan2 Thu 08-Jun-17 22:50:52

Maybe she'll turn round tomorrow and say, 'actually I've changed my mind about an election so let's leave things as they were....'

GracesGranMK2 Thu 08-Jun-17 22:47:59

Long night Jen - not long note!

minesaprosecco Thu 08-Jun-17 22:45:22

Blimey, don't know where all those commas came from - must be my hand shaking with excitement.

durhamjen Thu 08-Jun-17 22:44:28

Okay. It's quicker as well. Don't have to boil it!

whitewave Thu 08-Jun-17 22:44:20

No mandate for a hard Brexit whatever happens - yeeee!

minesaprosecco Thu 08-Jun-17 22:44:17

Yes dj,, ,my thoughts exactly.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 08-Jun-17 22:43:23

Both Jen - it looks like it could be a long note.

Sunderland 61% turnout - six minutes for them to equal the record.

durhamjen Thu 08-Jun-17 22:42:05

Problem is I can't/daren't go to bed, because the last election it looked okay for Labour before I went to sleep, and when I woke up....

whitewave Thu 08-Jun-17 22:41:43

Beer!!! It will steady you!!

whitewave Thu 08-Jun-17 22:41:09

Brexit talks start a week on Monday grin what a bleeding shambles

Tegan2 Thu 08-Jun-17 22:40:50

I'm shaking; can't believe it. It's like brexit night but in reverse. I daren't even hope the poll is correct.

durhamjen Thu 08-Jun-17 22:40:50

I've already had half a bottle of wine.
Should I make a herb tea, or have a bottle of beer?

merlotgran Thu 08-Jun-17 22:40:48

The righties have gone to bed?

There hasn't been a single result yet.

durhamjen Thu 08-Jun-17 22:39:57

Newcastle and Sunderland always fight to have the first return.
All those students should give Labour a much bigger majority.

On Channel four they have Dominic Raab, trying not to look embarrassed, and arguing with Gina Miller.

whitewave Thu 08-Jun-17 22:39:40

Well just in case we don't win as many seats as I hope

Miller is making a huge amount of sense
