She can't possibly stay - she's fatally wounded. Boris, Hammond and DD must be plotting as I post. Rudd a no-no, too close to her.

They are not "freebies" - they are sound policies would relieve hardship and stimulate the economy. There are many economists who agree with this approach.

ninny Mon 12-Jun-17 07:33:44

Although with all his promised freebies Corbyn still lost by 56 seats.

ninny Mon 12-Jun-17 07:31:53

Totally agree with you tidyskatemum.

kittylester Mon 12-Jun-17 07:28:27

What has Nigel Lawson got to do with his son's article? confused

Good post tidyskatemum

tidyskatemum your post is an example of opinion not fact.

Wait for the big spin from the Tories after the 1922 meeting about how much faith they have in Mrs May - how she'll be the best person to take us forward into Brexit blah blah blah

We could write the script for them

Ahem! Dominic Lawson's father didn't exactly do a wonderful job as Chancellor.

All the manifestos were analysed by the IFS and the LibDem one was judged to make most economic sense. The Labour manifesto, despite the criticism from the MSM, was a social democratic manifesto and has been praised for attempting to stimulate the economy.

Hopefully, the idea of austerity is at last being seen as a sham:

1 Because it doesn't work
2 Because it causes genuine hardship

My turn I think. Night all moon

Rigby46 Sun 11-Jun-17 23:12:16

Well Mrs May certainly overestimated something.........

tidyskatemum Sun 11-Jun-17 22:45:58

Dominic Lawson made a very valid point in the Sunday Times today: "I doubt any political party will again make the mistake of producing a responsible manifesto. They will all return to the hallowed custom of bribing the voters with their own money and making pledges they hope they are never obliged to redeem. Mrs May, the vicar’s daughter, seriously overestimated the British sense of public duty."
Instead so much of the electorate opted for freebies for everyone, regardless of how it would be paid for and regardless of how Jeremy Corbyn has behaved for the last 30 years. I can remember the horrendous 1970's though most of the posters here seem to have forgotten. I totally agree that Theresa May has made a pig's ear of things but a Corbyn government would be a hundred times worse.

Lidington will fit in well with the DUP.

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 22:29:41

GracesGran, don't you think that Tories always forget what they voted for?

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 22:27:17

Which makes me wonder why there was no mention of a housing minister. It's the one thing that everyone agreed on.

Goodnight, whitewave. Try not to think of Maybot blowing up, or, even worse, eating children.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 22:23:56

Night Whitewave.

GracesGranMK2 Sun 11-Jun-17 22:22:50

I think our memories will have to be wiped too whitewave, or at least those who voted Tory as I cannot see how there will be little recognisable in the Queens speech after the talks with the DUP and the obvious recognition the most people, even if they want or are prepared to stomach Brexit, do not want to put racism ahead of the economy. Anything left after that will be attacked by a strengthen and bipartisan opposition determined to bring May and her government down.

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 22:19:51

The difference between the two leaders.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 22:16:00

Wonder how on earth shes going to change her character?

We are lumbering along with the weakest pm we've ever had

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 22:10:10

I preume robots can have memories wiped. She appears to have forgotten the last week.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 22:08:11

Maybot has been rebooted

Stability blah blah hard work blah blah brexit blah blah

Still the same message as the messages given out during the campaign.

Quick on the uptake isnt she?

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 21:53:21

A bit of wishful thinking?

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 21:47:08

By the way, that's old. I think it's now 4 million on hospital waiting lists.

Haven't seen her announce the new housing minister yet. I presume she is having one, as she gave housing such prominence in the election campaign.

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 21:43:41

I notice that Brokenshire has been given Northern Ireland again. I bet he was begging for health but Hunt refused to give it up.

durhamjen Sun 11-Jun-17 21:41:19

'After failing to gain a majority in part because public saw her as robotic, Theresa May gives the same answer to three different questions.'
On twitter.

whitewave Sun 11-Jun-17 21:00:51

Thats why they rejected her ginny

Comes to something when the young have a better moral code than their elders!
