She can't possibly stay - she's fatally wounded. Boris, Hammond and DD must be plotting as I post. Rudd a no-no, too close to her.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 06:45:25

I thought Rudd was out?

suzied Fri 09-Jun-17 06:46:48

I think she is toast. I expect Boris will go for it.

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 06:53:20

No, she just made it after 5 recounts. I don't think Boris will get it.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 06:53:53

He cant possibly be the next PM - look at the utter embarrasment he has made as FS

MaizieD Fri 09-Jun-17 06:55:02

Surely the tories have better people than Rudd (how many recounts did it take for her to scrape back in?), Bojo or Gove - the names I saw bandied about during the night.

suzied Fri 09-Jun-17 06:56:37

Whoever gets it it's a poisoned chalice.

MaizieD Fri 09-Jun-17 06:57:09

There's no saying that the next tory leader will be PM, whitewave, is there?

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 06:59:51

That's true Maizie but they need a leader whatever.

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 07:00:48

They will need a caretaker - Hammond?

Riverwalk Fri 09-Jun-17 07:01:01

Maybe Jalima could predict the outcome, having been so right about a hung parliament!

Rudd would be no good - she could well lose her seat in the next general election, which some are predicting will be soon shock

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:16:16

There isnt much choice is there, if we accept that the uk has rejected hard brexit that would surely not allow any brexiter as leader? They will never wash at another election

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 07:20:48

We have all just been royally f***ed haven't we? We should rise up, march on Downing Street and tell the lot of them to form a government of national unity and that we don't want another bloody election or the DUP calling the shots.

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:23:13

National unity to see us through Brexit

The best way forward

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:25:10

McDonnell
" press lacks in generosity towards us"

I could think of stronger wordd

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 07:25:22

Can someone explain to me how having the DUP effectively running the country has anything to do with uniting the country, the will of the people and strong and stable leadership?

Tegan2 Fri 09-Jun-17 07:26:13

Ken Clarke; the best PM the Conservative party never had. I know it's not going to happen and I'm delirious from lack of sleep....it would be funny if it was Hammond after the way that May has treated him.Boris's majority has been halved [albeit still being comfortable].

Rigby46 Fri 09-Jun-17 07:27:19

Remember all those posts about kittens and potatoes? The world still spinning? Well not so funny now is it?

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:30:00

Tories trying to spin it, and Redwood that arch Brexiter saying it isnt about Brexit. Idiot

whitewave Fri 09-Jun-17 07:33:25

Oh yes "coalition of chaos" remember thst catchy little phrase

Anya Fri 09-Jun-17 07:52:29

Lots of Tory MPs running around 'with political scalpels' comment on TV this morning.

nightowl Fri 09-Jun-17 07:56:11

Tegan, I agree about Ken Clarke. I believe he is also a very nice man wink

He offered my friend (a Labour Party member) a lift when she was standing at the bus stop in the pouring rain grin. She won't hear a bad word against him!

PamelaJ1 Fri 09-Jun-17 08:03:18

Downing St. Says she is staying, John Redwood says they won't have to do a deal with any other party.
Shame we can't have a sensible coalition.

daphnedill Fri 09-Jun-17 08:09:48

May said that she wouldn't call an election. I can't imagine anybody would want to go into coalition with the Tories, except the DUP.

kittylester Fri 09-Jun-17 08:23:41

The world is still spinning, I'm still collecting my kitten and Jersey Royals will still be disappointing.

It's a good job those things are still the same because, as far as the country is concerned, we are in for a very bumpy ride.

For my part, not Johnson, Gove or Hammond. But I'll have to see who is left to choose between!
