They voted down the amendment to the Queens Speech on Wednesday which was literally just about that. They sided with the government, and they cheered when it was voted down.
Now May says she will do it, but not yet, as that will make it seem like Corbyn won!

This is what a weakened minority goverenment looks like and is entirely the fault of May and Hard Brexit and Tory austerity.

Maybe it isn't a Magic Money tree, maybe it is just 2 bilionl and a bit more that May lost down the back of the sofa early on and that explains why she wasn't able to balance the 'household budget'

Presumably that would be the autumn statement drawn up by Hammond who has publically stated that he is against the policy?

It really is appalling isn't it that in a country which is said to be the 5th or 6th richest in the world, we have this sort of poverty.

That vote was on Labour's amendment on a variety of measures to end the institutional impoverishment of our young people and our poorest. The reason the 'aye' vote was 12 lower than usual is because the LibDems abstained, essentially siding with the Tories to continue penalising poor people and our aspirational youth.'
