Chief Executive has resigned - SJ told him to go he says. Good. Now let's see the leader do the honourable thing.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 25-Jun-17 23:08:27

Annie what is your point?

rosesarered Sun 25-Jun-17 23:08:22

Wilma confused
The question is surely , was the cladding chosen because it was cheaper( but they still thought it was ok) or for the looks of it, don't forget it seems that all cladding tested so far from any tower block is combustible. The next question is why were there no firebreaks in the cladding?A further question is ...is any cladding anywhere on public buildings the right kind, and can even the right kind be combustible given the conditions? In fact there are loads of questions that need to be answered.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 25-Jun-17 23:07:43

And did you miss the parts of my post that said all parties and red or blue?

I swear it's like you went straight to the end of this thread without reading what has already been discussed just so you can share your twisted pearls of wisdom.

Anniebach Sun 25-Jun-17 23:05:45

Islington has been named as having the cladding, oh dear , Corbyn and Thorbury ground

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 25-Jun-17 23:03:58

You are missing the point. It is not the only fact. Of course it became political, everything is political.

stillaliveandkicking Sun 25-Jun-17 22:58:29

A tragedy that became political. Hmmm let me think about greedy subcontractors and councils no matter what or who is in government do the same. Let me think about mad Corbyn shouting about numbers of deaths. Hmm. Deaths can never be recorded properly due to subletting and illegal people in these places. This is the fact. A very sad one.

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 25-Jun-17 22:53:54

roses even I wouldn't say the cheaper cladding was chosen to help the wealthy. I will grovel on my hands and knees if it turns out that was the reason.

daphnedill Sun 25-Jun-17 22:53:22

Wilma Don't be angry! Saak is a dolly and knows exactly what she's doing.

daphnedill Sun 25-Jun-17 22:51:57

Yep! Bitter and twisted. It's only possible to judge the words which are actually written and I'm being honest about my impression.

Take a step back and look in a mirror!

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 25-Jun-17 22:51:56

SAAK you really take the biscuit by saying the elephant in the room is to do with illegal immigrants. Are you seriously saying nobody else has mentioned this? Do you really believe you're the only person to be thinking about the number of immigrants in the building. Does the fact the government has now stated several times, the immigration status of those were in the building who come forward will not be investigated? Is that what is the most important aspect of this tragedy is to you?

Also, the link given 18.49 at by dj that you appeared to dismiss is about the changes in the provision of social housing since the 70s. Only you could disregard what is being said a cross all parties right now about the state of social housing. No, the government did not directly cause the tragedy. But you would have to be pretty bloody minded not to find a link what happened to subsequent governments - red and blue - to the state of social housing provision in this country in 2017. It's nothing to do with world economics.

One thing you are right about. This is about personal greed, well partly. It's about councils awarding contracts to the lowest bidder, but not getting value for money. I wonder who makes money when that happens? It's not the councils that's for sure.

I am so angry right now.

rosesarered Sun 25-Jun-17 22:50:33

Tbf Wilma at this point we don't know why any of it was chosen or why.

daphnedill Sun 25-Jun-17 22:50:03

I'm not getting my knickers in a twist about anything ana.

daphnedill Sun 25-Jun-17 22:48:49

What are you on about anniebach?

WilmaKnickersfit Sun 25-Jun-17 22:43:15

Firstly, I would like to correct something. All the cladding tested is not the same as that used on Grenfell Towers. It is any cladding tested so far has failed the combustabilty test.

Secondly, I don't recall anybody on any thread on the subject of the tradgey saying K&C chose cheaper cladding to help the wealthy.

Anniebach Sun 25-Jun-17 22:16:51

Daphne - a rose by any other name etc grin

Anniebach Sun 25-Jun-17 22:15:36

Bitter and twisted ? Oh deary me, brownie points will be forwarded perhaps.

rosesarered Sun 25-Jun-17 22:11:58

Misunderstandings ensue even when the spellings are correct on GN.

stillaliveandkicking Sun 25-Jun-17 22:10:02

daff and durr grin

Ana Sun 25-Jun-17 21:20:23

My post wasn't addressed to you daphnedill, I don't know why you're getting your knickers in a twist about it...

stillaliveandkicking Sun 25-Jun-17 21:17:44

maybe that poster saw a dumber and dumber post in an oh so offensive jovial manner and that poster decided if you can't beat them sometimes join them. therefore another bit of satire has been born on the threads.

durhamjen Sun 25-Jun-17 21:17:40

I didn't correct her spelling. Just asked what she meant. Being helpful.
There is a big difference between boarders and borders, and surely someone who is so concerned should get the correct one. Otherwise all sorts of misunderstandings could ensue.

daphnedill Sun 25-Jun-17 21:14:59

No, Ana. For heavens' sake, I make enough spelling mistakes myself. However, it's also disrespectful to spell somebody's name wrongly consistently, especially when a poster seems bitter and twisted with hatred and the misspelling appears to be deliberate.

stillaliveandkicking Sun 25-Jun-17 21:12:01

grin at Annie.

Anniebach Sun 25-Jun-17 21:07:41

It only applies to some Ana , to be fair the two I have noticed who have corrected spelling speak often of their academic achievements , so perhaps it's a habit, an unpleasant habit rsther like nose picking but a habit

stillaliveandkicking Sun 25-Jun-17 20:59:49

I do know that is more often the case but there was also a great influx from the EU too at a level that the country didn't really need. So it's two-fold.

Where-ever or whatever the case, controls need to be in place now.

I sympathise with all plights Pen, but illegal is illegal.

I sympathise with people that end up in prison due to crimes related to many a thing but they were still wrong in their actions.
