It appears the judge has listened to Jeremy (he hasn't called for the judge to stand down) and is reaching out to the residents.

Only 50 MPs seem to think it's important enough to stay and take part.
Never ceases to amaze me when I see the Commons half empty or sometimes just a handful of MPs - I know they have other matters to attend to but surely if something is important they could find the time to be there.

I hope they are not having a lengthy lunch.

First post wasn't a ink Annie it was the words of the spokesperson for Justice4 Grenfell. It seems you only ever listen to things that reinforce your own views wether it is politicians or real people speaking.

And point out that similar questions -who are they? What right have they to speak? were probably asked of the Hillsborough Campaign. It took them over 25 years to get justice. I would have thought lessons would have been learned from what happened, but apparently not.

The Justice 4 Grenfell group have an on-line presence and have been offered support by the Hillsborough Campaign- oh sorry those people are just the relatives and friends of those who died at Hillsborough- so just volunteers- no rights at all then. Shouldn't be permitted to speak and can't know what happened!!!???? Do some people not follow events and learn from them?

The Red Tape Initative was being convened when Grenfell Tower was still burning. How insensitive was that?

I am perhaps not so suspicious of the people speaking for the victims but I would like them and their reason for being interviewed as a spokesperson of the Glenfell Tower residents to be clarified each time. I am more suspicious of lazy journalism that seeks those who will speak - even if they are not those who lived in the tower - and often seek the most contentious points of view.

What reasonable amount of input have they asked for? All I hear are experts, volenteers, politicians voicing their views. One man who was in the tower block spoke this morning that the number of dead has not given, no matter that it has not yet been possible to give a number , no one knows how many were in the tower block that night, how many are missing because they have not come forward

GGMK2 you said 'I do not believe these enquiries are the place for the victims/survivors to set the remit; they are the place for them to find the truths and where the outcomes may set the framework for the politicians to fight for change.'
If however the victims do not have confidence in the inquiry, have asked for a reasonable amount of input and are ignored are they then likely to believe the conclusions of a report made by someone they distrust? Especially given the establishment's record of inadequacies and cover ups. And if they are not satisfied with the inquiry will there then be a long period of campaigning and further inquiries as has already happened?
