If you have a worry/problem or are concerned about an injustice ,voice your concerns and the person you voice them to replies 'I Will Deal With It' what would you expect?

Primrose65 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:33:47

No one wants higher taxes. If you pay your tax and think you should pay more, you'd just drop off a bag of money at the local hospital/school/HMRC office etc. To my knowledge, no one has ever done that.
People only ever want some one else to pay higher taxes.
Just my opinion.

Does anyone believe Channel 4 fact checkers?

Oh dear. You can't have low taxes and pay for the society that works for everyone. Low taxes mean food banks, poverty, low wages, destruction of the NHS and anything else of any value.

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:28:11

I don't recall anyone saying that the Tories don't want low taxes.

durhamjen Thu 27-Jul-17 23:25:59

Scurrying around?
They are on Fullfact. Just sitting here calmly finding links to show you that the Tories are the party who want low taxes.
Not difficult to find, but you don't want to believe it, do you?

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:25:22

I'm not churning out a mantra GG, I'm expressing my opinions and my opinions having no substance is just your opinion.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:20:14

No Smileless they only concern me when someone chimes out a mantra which has no substance.

Darnsarf Thu 27-Jul-17 23:17:52

Whilst you're scurrying around looking for more links, can you explain why Corbyn insisted that the 3 main measures that the Conservative party wanted to take, to stop non-Dom loopholes and accountants who deliberately help their clients with tax avoidance, should be dropped from the finance bill?

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:14:49

hmma comment about Labour's tax avoidance would have been more entertaining interesting.

Darnsarf Thu 27-Jul-17 23:11:57

Ah! Some whataboutery dj! grin

Pin heads only seem to concern you if they represent a different point of view GG.

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:04:51

There's moreshock

GracesGranMK2 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:04:29

Head of a pin again Smileless.

Darnsarf Thu 27-Jul-17 23:02:00

grin Some more?

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 23:00:11

Great post mum Darnsarfgrin

Darnsarf Thu 27-Jul-17 23:00:11

But it's ok, Corbyn said he will "tackle it". which maybe isn't the same as dealing with it .

Darnsarf Thu 27-Jul-17 22:56:23

You're right Smileless. In fact the Labour party avoided paying tax on 4.3 million pounds worth of profits in 2015 according to the Electoral Commission. In 2015, the Labour party ran a surplus of 4.3 million but paid ZERO tax. On the other hand, the Conservative party ran a surplus of just over 1 million pounds and paid tax of 238,000 pounds on it.
The news was actually revealed on the very day that JC made his announcement that he intended to fund a 500 billion pound of investment through tackling tax evasion! grin

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 22:55:12

And I wonder how many wealthy labour supporters get out of paying taxhmmor aren't there any wealthy members of the labour party.

durhamjen Thu 27-Jul-17 22:53:40

Jalima, are you saying that the Tories do not pride themselves on being the low tax party? Because they definitely did that in their election manifesto. Hammond is still saying it.
They are still going to cut corporation tax so it's the lowest in the G20.

durhamjen Thu 27-Jul-17 22:50:45

Yes, but as primrose said, it's the wealthy who get out of paying it, not the others.

Smileless2012 Thu 27-Jul-17 22:40:26

Yes Primrose "Plenty of people moan about how much tax they pay too"; not just the tories and not just the wealthy.

Jalima1108 Thu 27-Jul-17 22:40:25

I know what you meant Primrose
Which seems to me to be the same as djen said!
Paying the right amount of tax for the proper running of society should be something we should all be proud to do - not something for those who have the most to wriggle out of by devious schemes.

Lost in Translation grin

durhamjen Thu 27-Jul-17 22:32:00

Tories are the low tax party. They are not happy to pay the tax they have to at the moment.
They are very unlikely to want to pay tax at the levels of Scandinavian countries to equalise pay and benefits.
