If you have a worry/problem or are concerned about an injustice ,voice your concerns and the person you voice them to replies 'I Will Deal With It' what would you expect?

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 12:33:10

No point in telling them that, though, because they'd rather believe DM rubbish.

Student debt will now amount to £100,000 per student by the time the new interest rates are applied (6%!)

mostlyharmless Mon 31-Jul-17 12:28:56

He did know how much it would cost to end tuition fees as it is clearly in the Manifesto.

mostlyharmless Mon 31-Jul-17 12:27:49

Corbyn promised to end tuition fees. That was in the Manifesto and was FULLY COSTED. He DID NOT promise to clear all old student debt!
Two different issues are being deliberately seen as one in the right wing press and on here by some people who haven't read the Corbyn interview.

Primrose65 Mon 31-Jul-17 12:16:23

Yeah, it's definitely about Corbyn.

rosesarered Mon 31-Jul-17 12:07:06

I don't think that Corbyn knew how much not charging tuition fees would cost or how much debt there is.He doesn't seem to know much about figures, just like Dianne Abbott.
It certainly is about Corbyn, because he garnered a huge younger vote by promising to solve all University fee/debt problems at a stroke if he got into power.
I wonder how they will all feel right now? Older and wiser perhaps.

trisher Mon 31-Jul-17 11:57:10

rar at least get your facts straight before you comment- "I will deal with it" was a remark made about student debt- not tuition fees.
Student debt is a huge problem and everyone knows it is and no-one has the solution, but it WILL HAVE TO BE DEALT WITH!
Tuition fees are a different question and yes he promised to abolish them. for the simple reason they are clogging the economy and limiting access to higher ed.
But hey when someone doesn't know the difference between the debt and tuition fees or chooses not to know what can you do?
It isn't about Corbyn really. It is about acknowledging the huge mistake tuition fees were and student debt is. But people choose to personalise the argument because they really don't have a solution and it's much easier to target an individual than look at the facts.

rosesarered Mon 31-Jul-17 11:40:07

trisher the only person to try and derail the thread and cause upset certainly isn't Primrose
Sadly it seems that some can't bear to have the tiniest aspersion cast on the saintly Corbyn.
The OP started the thread because it has been in the news this last week that JC hadn't the foggiest idea how much not charging tuition fees would cost!
Had he got into power at the last GE ( and hello! He didn't.) then he would have started backtracking fast on that promise to young people.
A cynical ploy by him and his ramshackle cabinet.

dj grin

trisher Mon 31-Jul-17 11:12:38

So not allowed to ask a question of you? Isn't that a bit dictatorial? Oh hey maybe you don't know why you did it. Or maybe you don't know what 'spamming' means or maybe you are just interested in causing upset. Anyway it's your post and it's unnecessary but stay on the defensive and pretend there is a socialist conspiracy around. As Maybot takes the flack for a failed Tory government and we lurch towards a chaotic Brexit discussing the meaning of 5 words is like fiddling while Rome burns.

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 11:09:08

I don't think there'll be any queue for Vixen, trisher, particularly with Fox in the other party.

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 11:07:54

Do you really think you are that important, primrose?

trisher Mon 31-Jul-17 11:06:17

Comet and Prancer- not really a 'collective' but I'm sure there are more of us out there!

Primrose65 Mon 31-Jul-17 11:02:09

Just start a "Why did you do that Primrose?' thread trisher

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 10:59:50

I'll be Comet, trisher.
Comets can change the course of the world, hopefully not by crashing into it.

trisher Mon 31-Jul-17 10:53:34

I didn't post about 'spamming' a thread Primrose why did you do that?

trisher Mon 31-Jul-17 10:52:02

dj if we are the "socialist reindeer collective" on GN I want to be Prancer. You can choose any of the other reindeer names

Primrose65 Mon 31-Jul-17 10:51:08

I'm not upset at all trisher! I think Tom Walker can be funny. Why are you so against satire? I loved Spitting Image in the 80's and 90's, Not the Nine o'clock News......British political satire is fabulous.

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 10:51:05

Smileless, I think you need to use the instant grammar checker.

Smileless2012 Mon 31-Jul-17 10:47:27

You could 'Deal with it' the way JC does Primrose but if you really want too perhaps he isn't the best role model.

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 10:45:20

Deal with it, primrose.

Smileless2012 Mon 31-Jul-17 10:44:54

Maybe she'll stay whitewave because when it comes down to it no one else will want the job. If that's the case perhaps they'd do better to support rather than deride her.

trisher Mon 31-Jul-17 10:43:22

Satire destroys political arguments Primrose65 that's it's purpose.
You accused us of 'spamming' simply because we posted 2 things that upset you. Now who isn't getting the joke?

Smileless2012 Mon 31-Jul-17 10:42:46

Good to see that the posters on here don't need the 'Instant Grammar check'smile.

Primrose65 Mon 31-Jul-17 10:39:10

trisher It's satire. It's not about destroying arguments. It's about having a laugh on a Monday morning!
