Let's hope Jill Archer does not take a trip to an NT property or she might express her feelings in a dangerous fashion. grin

This is typical NT, more political posturing. They could just as easily have introduced this cake into their cafes as a new product, which it is, entirely different from basic flapjack, promoted it, perhaps made fewer flapjacks and nobody would have noticed.

But no, not them, they have to do lots of value-signalling about how politically correct they are in following government guidelines on sugar content. They will get a lot of free publicity, lots of complaints, they will withdraw the new product, go back to flapjacks, but they will be left with a bit more glitter on their value-signalling pc halo and can retreat to their offices and enjoy the feeling, once again of being holier than thou and slightly martyred because they meant so well but those ignorant people, the British public, wouldn't follow their guidance.

Reminds me of yr 11 Food Tech GCSE controlled assessment.

'Modify a traditional flapjack recipe to make a healthier alternative.' hmm

Trekking round a stately home, walled gardens and parkland needs a calorific reward IMO.

Based on the other two threads, am I the only Gran who's not a member of the NT?

(And I don't like cake) hmm
