Does anyone else think Trump has a point?

I am really worried about the idea of re-writing history to suit either left or right and am thinking Trump may have a point.

I would not want Nazis or the KKK marching in my town (I would want the organisations banned, if it were in my country) but surely we have to be even handed if people are breaking the law.

There can only be one called illtellhim.

illtellhim Thu 24-Aug-17 13:10:48

durhamjen Thu 24-Aug-17 13:02:46

What are you doing on here at 12:46?

Trump a multi - millionaire and the POUSA is deranged no sorry clearly deranged, what have I been doing wrong.

Advice urgently sought, because I've been completely unable to think clearly or behave in a controlled way for all of my life, really, I have.

" The Ku Klux Klan has grown faster since Donald Trump’s inauguration than any time in recent memory, a Klan leader has claimed.

“I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and I haven’t seen the Klan grow at the pace it’s growing now,” Chris Barker, an Imperial Wizard of the KKK, told The Independent. “I mean, it’s even hard to keep track of the numbers you’ve got ’cause there’s so many coming in.”

Mr Barker said that after the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville he received 50 applications to join his group in one day. The next day, he received 80.

Mr Barker leads the Loyal White Knights of the KKK, which has less than 200 members. As one of the most active Klan groups in the US, the group takes part in “activism” such as burning crosses, advocating for the murder of immigrants, and distributing leaflets claiming, among other things, “transgender is an abomination”. I think the narcissistic personality diagnoses is becoming more and more clear as time goes on.

All his speeches are ever about is himself, and he continuously re-runs the election.

GracesGranMK2 Thu 24-Aug-17 09:08:00

I think this is what made my ask the question in my OP. It was a feeling of - surely he must know right from wrong, are we missing something.

tidyskatemum Wed 23-Aug-17 22:22:36

NOOOOOOOoooooo.. Trump is clearly deranged, as evinced by his rant in Arizona yesterday. We should all be very afraid

durhamjen Wed 23-Aug-17 22:17:20

I know what you mean. You wonder if you are overreacting, but there are too many experts who are worried about his behaviour now.
The problem is what to do about him.

GracesGranMK2 Wed 23-Aug-17 22:09:16

Oh dear. It sort of feel OK if I am scared but if this guy is too I am very, very scared. What has happened to the world?

durhamjen Wed 23-Aug-17 22:05:28

Someone else worried about how trump behaves.

Nelson's wife was from a West Indian plantation owning family. Without looking her up I can't recall if she retained any West Indian interests (i.e had an income from a slave worked plantation) after she married him.

Nelson was also stationed on Jamaica during the early part of his career, the navy being there to protect British slaving interests in the West Indies.

Those are the only connections that spring to my mind. I suppose I'd better find the Guardian article to see what justification the writer gives for wanting to tumble him from his column...

lemongrove Tue 22-Aug-17 18:36:52

Who, Nelson? ?

petra Tue 22-Aug-17 18:23:49

It appears he was persuaded by one of his generals showing him a picture of women in mini skirts walking through Kabul. He's so shallow grin

nigglynellie Tue 22-Aug-17 18:10:24

Apparently Nelson was a racist (maybe, most people of his era were) and more bizarrely a slaver!
As Nelson joined the RN at the age of 12, and remained in the RN, spending comparatively little time in England, until he died on board the Victory, how he managed to trade slaves is hard to understand?!
Pull Nelson from his column loony left, at your peril!

willa45 Tue 22-Aug-17 16:57:24

In my view there is no such thing as racial 'superiority'. We all belong to a single race....it's called the Human Race.

If there was such a thing as an 'inferior' human, race, ethnicity, intelligence, physical defect, incapacity or skin color would have nothing to do with that.

The inferior type of human would be those individuals who motivated by hate and anger raise automatic rifles and hate symbols while advocating the destruction of other fellow humans!

Deemed unusually loud and 'morally defective', they should be publicly shamed, tattooed (on the bum) and banished forever, for being worth much less than normal people! wink

grannysue05 Tue 22-Aug-17 16:24:45

Is this post still supposed to be about Donald Trump?
If so, what do others think about his latest statement regarding sending troops BACK into Afghanistan ?

petra Tue 22-Aug-17 16:18:50

And now we have the loony left wanting to pull down Nelsons Column. Written by a Guadian journalist.
I would like to hang him/her from the column.

Oriel Tue 22-Aug-17 14:56:18

Here's the post from illtellhim - it was written under a thread titled 'Found out something new about yourself'

*Hi Jane10, it would really help me if you told us what book you're on about.

As for finding something out about myself, well no, I've don't think I've ever been interested in anything, in fact I've often been in awe of what other people do but could not be bothered to start, quite boring really, well I'll tell you, from 7 till 9 every morning I'm on GN, have been for years. I also post under 3 different names, other GNetters do it, but that as far as it goes, defiantly, quite boring really.*

Oriel Tue 22-Aug-17 14:52:46

I was reading a thread (will try to find it) where illtellhim said that she posted under three separate user names.

MaizieD Tue 22-Aug-17 13:44:14

It can't be that hard to detect if the 'illegal' poster is announcing it themselves grin

I'm interested to hear what Oriel says...
