EXCLUSIVE: New CCTV footage reveals Jeremy Corbyn told truth about 'Traingate'

I think someone owes Corbyn an apology. It won't happen of course but at least this may balance the story the owners of the news wanted us to hear.

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 21:57:53

Okay, so you don't believe the title that Corbyn told the truth about traingate.
You'd rather believe all the people on here who don't like Corbyn.
So what's new?
4 minutes in there's a screenshot of all the things that Virgin did to obstruct the findings.
I am sure you think they are all lying as well, all the people who were on the train, particularly those who sat in the doorway all the way to Newcastle.

nigglynellie Fri 25-Aug-17 22:03:27

Talking of Workhouses, my four times great grandmother ended her days in a Workhouse. Found this out doing family research. Poor soul, it was a very slippery slope in those days, I don't think we are actually heading in that direction despite all the doom in certain quarters!
I have chuckled at the vision of certain politicians, past and present forlornly sitting on the floor of a train! Not a stunt? Oh come on, pull the other one!!,

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:04:42

No, I think it's just you being paranoid.

What on earth was paranoid about my comment?

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 22:05:42

How many do you know who have done it, then, niggly?

trisher Fri 25-Aug-17 22:06:29

Perhaps all the people who are asking silly questions like "Why didn't he book a seat?" and "Did he walk past empty seats?" should ask the question "Why did Richard Branson find it necessary to release photographs with lies and misinformation about Corbyn and this train journey?". I appreciate some people don't like Corbyn and his policies, but actually accepting lies and propaganda from a multi millionaire who is raking in money from services, money that should be going back into public services and not into the pocket of an already rich man makes me despair of democracy. By all means dislike Corbyn for his policies but do so on accurate and supported information not because of bias and lies.
Oh and I know why Branson lied, he doesn't want anyone to know the real state of the East Coast Franchise which is a great little earner, because (God forbid) he might be forced to put on more carriages and provide people with seats.

Jalima1108 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:08:37

But everyone knows the trains are over-crowded unless they are living in a bubble so I see no reason whatsoever why anyone should try to doctor or hide the evidence - anyway he was offered seats in first class but was too proud/daft/stupid/conscious of his image as a 'man of the people' to take them.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:11:56

Primrose this may be repeating myself I agree as I think I may have said it to you before - it is not all about you! You were nowhere in my thoughts - you rarely are. It was not you who gave me the sense of deja vu although I can see why you might have thought the lack of logic may apply but I don't think even you are as illogical as this person was and, possibly, is.

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 22:13:11

Nothing wrong with being too conscious of his image as a socialist, Jalima.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 22:19:18

That's my concern, his image as a socialist , I want a socialist leader not a leader who has to develop an image

Primrose65 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:19:55

Fair enuff gg. I'll ignore all your "strange sense of deja vue reminding me of someone else ... ghost or a reincarnation I wonder" opinions not based on fact as you're directing them at someone else.

trisher Fri 25-Aug-17 22:23:12

Still no-one questioning Branson I notice. So you knew that people sat on the floor or stood for 3 hours from London to Newcastle Jalima1108 I wonder why everyone was so prepared to believe Branson about there being plenty of seats then?

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 22:23:53

His image as a socialist is a much more realistic one than your image as a socialist, Annie.
When did you join the Tories?

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:27:34

So now we find the worst accusation against Corbyn is that 'he didn't book seats'.

So yet again stories are being made up by people who seem to have little experience of business travel. It is really quite common - when you don't know exactly when a previous meeting will finish, to give yourself the flexibility to catch an earlier or later train, that the tickets are bought as 'Open' or 'Anytime' tickets. I find it entirely possible that they did this but we don't know do we.

However, the whimsical stories being made up by some of you are things we don't know either do we. You are just trying to construct something on the basis of those 'don't knows' so you can throw accusations around because they suit your prejudices - not facts, just anything you can make up.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:29:00

I wasn't 'directing them' at anyone Primrose. I rather think the person I was reminded of was before your time.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 22:30:14

That man is a one off - thank God- he sends a messsge to a woman for her birthday , HER BIRTHDAY and reminds her how the previous year he waded down the street trying to help people,

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:31:22

'Everyone' didn't trisher. The right-wing press were very happy to ramp it up however, as usual and those who are easily led by the nose did what they always do and didn't apply logic or question the right-wing supporters.

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 22:32:22

Agree with you, trisher, about the East Coast great little earner.
It's just the epitome of Tory dogma, selling off something that makes a profit.
Did you see that Scotrail is also making a profit- for Abellio, the Dutch state railways. The Scottish government were not allowed to buy it and profit from it. The Dutch one can, though.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 22:32:44

He was on the hustings, what politician would risk being late when voters he is hoping to win are waiting .

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:33:15

And so, that God, are both you and your obsession AB.

Primrose65 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:33:24

The accusation against him is not that he failed to book seats. It's that his story constantly changes.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 22:34:29

Trisher, I am very surprised that you wouldn't care if he had lied .

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:36:29

Annie you are now grasping at straws and quite ridiculous straws too. You are damning a man because of the tickets that were no doubt organised for him not by him.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:38:36

But it hasn't Primrose. Only the evidence against his story has changed when it has been shown to be flawed.

durhamjen Fri 25-Aug-17 22:38:49

Wasn't it when he was going to a discussion with Owen Smith?
How did Owen Smith get there?

Primrose65 Fri 25-Aug-17 22:42:51

Yes it has gg. It was well reported in the press at the time.
