I stand by what I said, Annie, having seen it in context.
I don't see how anyone can say they are 100% against communism if they say they are socialist. The original communists were social democrats in this country, with the idea of getting workers to stand up for their rights by forming unions.
Are you against that?

The Truth Behind Traingate
(1001 Posts)EXCLUSIVE: New CCTV footage reveals Jeremy Corbyn told truth about 'Traingate'
I think someone owes Corbyn an apology. It won't happen of course but at least this may balance the story the owners of the news wanted us to hear.
Why sit on the floor if you can't find two seats next to each other? Why not sit separately, and move next to each other when a seat became available as they always do on a long journey? Why not reserve your seats in advance as you have to for a coach or aeroplane journey? Why make such an unnecessary mountain out of a molehill?!!
POGS as far as the mainstream media is concerned this is yesterday's news. Why else do you think Virgin took 7 months to release the footage?
As there is a general right-wing bias in the news anyway, Virgin spend an enormous amount on advertising and there has been a long delay the likelihood of this story making the headlines again is practically zero. Thank goodness for social media which can show and share things independently.
There must be a lot of GNers who have access to the top of the labour party as they state categorically that it was a publicity stunt or PR exercise - no I believe', 'I understand' etc. Perhaps these posters could name their sources?

How can you be 100% against communism yet call yourself a socialist ?
I followed this with a post asking why, as the Labour Party was founded in 1900 was the British communist party founded in 1920.
You didn't reply
Traingate was a publicity stunt that backfired on Corbyn and his team.
There is nothing in the latter video that disproves the fact there were seats available and Corbyn sat on the floor to 'speak to camera' and was filmed for that sole purpose by Yannis Mendez who was reportedly paid by Corbyn for his work that day.
The Guardian ran the story, reportedly after Buzzfeed chose not to .
The Guardian later ran a detailed , honest summary of the connection between Mandez/Corbyn and the Guardian basically saying they maybe jumped too quickly to print the Corbyn story and relied on what was termed in the article,
' The video of Jeremy Corbyn sitting on the floor of a train, disclosed exclusively online on 16 August, was mistakenly treated by the Guardian more as freelance journalism than what it actually was: a kind of gonzo news release by two Corbyn supporters."
www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/oct/07/fast-train-to-publication-too-fast
"After walking through carriages without finding sufficient seats together, Corbyn sat down on the floor. Mendez described this to me later as “a completely impromptu moment”.
The fact keeps cropping up time and time again and Corbyn himself has stated this ' He wanted 2 seats together to sit with his wife'.
durhamjen provided a link on Friday to the Huffington post which includes this at one stage:-
23 August, 21:00
‘Wanted to sit with wife’
That account was changed again a few hours after, when a source in the Corbyn camp revealed the Labour leader had walked past empty unreserved seats without bags on.
They told the Guardian he had shunned them in favour of the floor as there were no two seats together and he wanted to sit with his wife".
The fact ' The Story' changed from person to person and time wise gave credence to the point that this was a stunt /PR exercise and it bit them on the backside.
The OP of this thread believes, as do other Corbyn supporters , there is new evidence to Train gate.
What evidence, it was stated there were empty seats but Corbyn himself on t.v and in print said he wanted 2 seats together.
Look at the recent media coverage so far and no media outlet has to my knowledge backed up Mendez for a 2nd time . What I am gathering is the new footage is being reported but there is not a credible media source stating it is in fact providing new evidence to that which was reported previously.
Of course the Corbyn bloggers will say otherwise.
It will remain one of those ' stories' that will be viewed by different people in different ways won't it.
Here's a good reason for renationalising the railways.
www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/trains-north-lag-way-behind-13537697
The north east might then get its fair share of resources.
If you buy a ticket for a Virgin train and miss it, you csannot then catch the next train up to Newcastle unless you pay the full fair for the day on top of what you have already paid. You could if all trains belonged to the same company, us.
Barbarous and destructive-certainly you are as far as threads on GN go Annie
Barbarous- uncivilised, crude
Destructive-causing great and irreparable damage.
Your constant attacks on posters and Jeremy Corbyn have done both of these things to so many threads. You seem unable to discuss anything with objectivity and reason. So if the cap fits....
lemongrove you do realise that the majority of people thinking something doesn't make it true don't you?
I don't think I said that, Annie.
What I said was that you can't be a member of the communist party and the Labour party at the same time.
Seems so lemongrove ,
Some do not know the difference perhaps?
Jen, please give an explanation for your statement re can't be against communisism and be a socialist , it needs clearing up does it not?
The one person that seems to be attacked consistently is not you durhamjen
Most on the forum think it was a stunt, and would think so no matter which politician had pulled it.
Thanks, Eloethan, for putting it all together so that others can see how one person is attacked consistently.
Jalima, I don't think it was a stunt; you do.
Lots of us travel on overcrowded trains. What is wrong with wanting TOSs to stop taking money off people for not giving them the service they have paid for?
Eloethan you must indeed have much time on your hands to bother going through all posts made by one poster.
It is truly out of context anyway, without other comments.
You admire Corbyn, I get that, but do not fall in the trap of
Admiring one politician so much that you cannot see any flaws. He is not a Messiah come to save the country. He and the team around him will do anything to maximise his popularity.Forget Branson and if he has doctored footage or not, the whole debacle was to show that the train was so packed you could never get seats. Now, this may be a real problem, I have not seen anyone deny it, but the truth is that seats can be booked and other people manage to do so.It cannot be seen by most as anything but a PR stunt.
Oh dear Eloethan once again you fail to get my point deliberately or otherwise.
As djen and others have pointed out, disclosing too much about yourself which can be spread far and wide on FB, Twitter and in fact worldwide, may not be a good idea.
The insults have been flying back and forth but you have only managed to find the ones from one angle.
This was a stunt, as loopyloo says Corbyn wants to nationalise the railways that is why he pulled this daft one, perhaps deliberately not booking a seat to prove a point and handily having a documentary maker with him at the time. Whether re-nationalisation is a good or bad thing is worthy of discussion but this stunt is not unless it is in the lighthearted way that posters have done.
You managed to discredit yourself Eleothan, just by taking comments out if context .
Again, you just can't resist using insults to try to undermine and discredit people can you anniebach.
I don't believe the "context" justifies your snide remarks. People can form their own conclusions as to whether making the above comments can justifiably be called taking part in an "honest discussion". I suppose those that cheer you on and paint you as a victim will continue to do so.
Really Eleothan, all that taken out of context is just pathetic. You must live a very lonely life.
Try going over them again and find - "you are a communist" said to anyone . You may enjoy not twisting and taking comments out of context, it's known as holding an honest discussion.
Corbyn wants to nationalise the railways so wants to clash with Virginia trains.
I remember state owned railways, they weren't brilliant.
Jalima The suggestion that disclosing one's political allegiance will have unspecified but unpleasant consequences is ridiculous - unless, of course, you as a Labour Party member or voter, express some support for Corbyn, in which case you will be told that you are masquerading as Labour but are secretly a communist infiltrator.
anniebach You choose to present yourself as a perfectly reasonable person who has been targeted by "commies" and lefties. As usual, your followers - many of whom have either openly said they are Conservatives or whose comments echo Conservative ideology and policy - are delighted to cheer on those who make such claims.
Anyone who reads the political threads will know that you - and your fan base - have done your fair share of sneering at, misrepresenting and smearing people with whom you disagree, and have often initiated these sorts of confrontations through your intemperate comments, examples of which can be found on this thread also:
"An elderly woman [anniebach] picking on a man [Corbyn] who supports blowing up, shooting and kneecapping people".
"Corbyn is not a socialist, he is a communist,he will destroy the Labour Party .... he will let nothing stop him trying to achieve his dream communist country"
"How you have changed since becoming a Corbyn deciple (sic)"
"I suggest you calm down durhamjen"
"It was so obvious who had communist beliefs when discussing re-housing of the tower victim survivors"
"Jen sounds as if she has a crush on Corbyn" (anniebach later says indignantly "I have never said you are in love with Corbyn").
"Jen, your obsession with Corbyn has turned you into a most unpleasant know-all"
"....your posts are so like the shouts I used to hear from the commies when they gathered on street corners"
"I know communist beliefs when I read them"
"I am surprised at the passionate protectivenessof Corbyn by some here - unsure if it is motherly or ?" [Ana adds "secret lust"]
"Like the Farage craze - perhaps extremes in politics does this [Baggs adds "Well said, annie. I think you are on to something there"]
"After all, Corbyn mania arose out of populism, same as Farage populism""
These are all comments that, in my opinion, are intended to deflect attention away from the real issue which is that Virgin, for whatever reason, selectively released only segments of the footage they had and then cited mysterious "technical difficulties" in providing the full footage with attached timings. They have declined to respond to any questions put to them about this.
Some people point blank refuse to consider the possibility that the footage originally released deliberately misrepresented events. The same people instead raised many other irrelevant issues such as Corbyn should have booked his seat, flown, etc. etc., that he should have sat in the first class seats offered (and nobody, of course, would have accused him of being a hypocrite for doing so) - and so it went on.....

We'll have none of that nudge nudge wink wink malarky on this thread thank you very much. Serious discussion about train timetables, seat allocation and carriage quotas only.
feign amused neutrality
If someone is neutral then it is not feigned
If that person is amused then that is probably not feigned either.
become very defensive when asked if they have any political allegiances
Perhaps many people do not have any particular political allegiance but vote as their conscience dictates at an election when political parties go too far down a particular path for their liking - that's how we get changes of governments.
Others may not wish to nail their colours to any particular mast on an open forum for reasons which have become quite obvious recently.
You cannot criticise those who do not express undying faith for a particular politician. There are some of us who find some of their antics quite ridiculous.
Sorry wring thread
Ere gillybob, you talking 'bout me? I might get offended! And I won't stand for such racist s***e! And no nudge nudge wink winking either!
