EXCLUSIVE: New CCTV footage reveals Jeremy Corbyn told truth about 'Traingate'

I think someone owes Corbyn an apology. It won't happen of course but at least this may balance the story the owners of the news wanted us to hear.

Your post @18.26. Your pacifist mask slipped again. It's not the first time either. Be careful, people might start to believe your not the non violent person you like to portray.
But did anyone, ever?

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 19:19:33

Exactly, gg, but I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm expressing doubt that Virgin Trains are as rubbish as some people seem to think. I'm sure some Virgin Train journeys are awful. And I'm equally sure that some, possibly even most, are fine.

Chewbacca Sat 26-Aug-17 19:19:11

So if you've paid to reserve a seat, and someone else is sat in it, you politely ask them to move. If they refuse to move, the train manager will insist that they move. Even more simples! I struggle to understand why this is such a challenge to understand. None of you on here come across as shrinking violets, who recoil from confrontation, so why would asking someone who was sat in your reserved and paid for seat be such a problem?

GracesGranMK2 Sat 26-Aug-17 19:13:07

They prove no more but no less than your posts Baggs.

GracesGranMK2 Sat 26-Aug-17 19:11:33

...... BOOK A SEAT! Simples!

SOMEONE WHO THINKS THEY HAVE PAID QUITE ENOUGH FOR A SEAT IS OFTEN IN IT AND MAY NOT BE INCLINED TO MOVE.

THE TRAINS ARE OVERCROWDED. Simples

Chewbacca Sat 26-Aug-17 18:55:23

Sailing close to the wind Ana! grin

Ana Sat 26-Aug-17 18:53:42

Getting quite daring with her digs these days - must be the weather...

Chewbacca Sat 26-Aug-17 18:41:02

No Baggs, of course durham didn't just see a survey about throwing people under a train! She just made made that up to slip in a little passive aggressive quip! grin

Chewbacca Sat 26-Aug-17 18:37:12

But rail passengers in Durham have reason to be happy, don't they? Virgin have spent a great deal of money extending the platform at Durham station by 40m so that the longer Azumi train (that has more carriages and therefore can carry more passengers) can stop at the station." This platform extension for the IEP at Durham is the latest in a series. It joins Paddington, Edinburgh Waverley , Newark Northgate, Grantham and a handful of others. More at www.ieptrain.co.uk".

Anniebach Sat 26-Aug-17 18:32:17

For some reason there are far more cars on the roads today compared to last Saturday

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 18:31:33

We believe you saw such tweets, dj. That is not the issue. The issue is that those tweets prove nothing except that some passengers were unhappy. Unhappy with reason, I'm sure, but they were only some. There were also happy train travellers on Virgin Trains the same day. And daft ones too.

Primrose65 Sat 26-Aug-17 18:30:57

Leaving the thread now.

durhamjen Sat 26-Aug-17 18:30:48

By the way, I don't tweet.

durhamjen Sat 26-Aug-17 18:30:10

It was on the same twitter feed, Baggs, Couldn't miss it.

durhamjen Sat 26-Aug-17 18:29:07

"glad I paid £150 for train to Edinburgh to have luxury of no seat even though I booked 1, now standing all the way @virgintrains #TrainFail "

One of the tweets I saw.

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 18:28:39

And you take actual notice of a survey about people who should be thrown under trains?

Very odd.

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 18:27:49

Sorry. I mean your tweets are.

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 18:27:30

You are becoming incomprehensible, dj.

durhamjen Sat 26-Aug-17 18:26:40

Just seen a survey of people who should be thrown under a train, and the winner was those who said simples.

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 18:26:23

There are a lot of silly tweets as well and a very quick search showed tweets from people perfectly happy with their Virgin Train travel.

Biased, you, dj? Never.

Chewbacca Sat 26-Aug-17 18:24:03

So if they know they're going to have to travel on a busy bank holiday...... BOOK A SEAT! Simples!

durhamjen Sat 26-Aug-17 18:22:25

How fast do you think rail studies work?

www.dft.gov.uk/rail-value-for-money

I said lots of tweets from people. That's not just one example.
Unfortunately lots of people have to travel London to Edinburgh over a bank holiday.

Chewbacca Sat 26-Aug-17 18:21:15

Maybe they should have been booked a seat before setting off then. If you know your going to be travelling a long distance, surely you'd think ahead. It's a bank holiday weekend for heaven's sake, anyone who knowingly gets on a train without booking ahead is unlikely to get a seat.

Baggs Sat 26-Aug-17 18:17:43

Bank holiday madness.

One example does not a case make anyhow.

durhamjen Sat 26-Aug-17 18:15:36

Lots of tweets today from people standing up London to Edinburgh having paid £150 to Virgin for the privilege.
