For anyone who may think that Trump has a point.
What the hell is TM contemplating?

whitewave Mon 09-Oct-17 21:22:24

Everyone’s below JRM except perhaps the pope and God.

durhamjen Mon 09-Oct-17 21:19:18

There's a thought. If Rees-Mogg becomes PM, he'll be able to get close to trump and invest all his money for him. All at arm's length, of course, nothing too illegal.
Or do you think trump is too far below him on the social scale?

JessM Mon 09-Oct-17 20:56:29

Trump appears to be a man of relatively little brain. Some have said that he is not a successful businessman - he'd be worth more money if he'd given his inheritance over to someone to invest on the stock exchange.
The recent slapping of tariffs on Bombadier, which may lead to thousands of job losses in N Ireland, is a little sample of what it would be like being a minnow trying to strike a trade deal with a shark.

This is slightly worrying.

London is closer to North Korea than Los Angeles.

durhamjen Mon 09-Oct-17 15:26:20

Hope he's got healthcare!

whitewave Mon 09-Oct-17 09:58:25

I read somewhere that a psychologist/psychiatrist considers Trump to be in the early stages of Alzheimer’s.

He is certainly in the stages of somethinggrin

Still got a couple of Naomi Klein's to read and I'm halfway through A World without Bees.
Haven't got time for another book yet.
I suppose if I stopped posting on gransnet I'd have more time....

Has anyone read Rushdies new book? “The Golden House”

I think it is worth a read, and will throw some light various topics such as identity/gender issues. There is a breakdown of trust, which he explores. A look at the concept of the elite.

It covers the Obama period up Trumps election.

Climate change research in trump's own backyard. Fortunately researchers don't have to rely on trump for funding.

It sounds very interesting, and shows we can do something to reverse the effects.

For those who miss Obama.

You need to read down to the bottom for the Biden Memes.

"Perhaps he senses that he wouldn't be very welcome here, Tricia."
I wouldn't be surprised if it came from the Royals - the Queen would have to meet him and I can imagine Phillip's reaction.
Wasn't TM the first to go to see him and issue the invitation?

durhamjen Tue 26-Sept-17 20:32:09

So special that he uses us as a firing range for his rockets.
I hope Kim Jong-Un doesn't do the same.
Of course, trump owns golf courses in Scotland, but I think he would still have to get May's agreement.

What's that thread about the end of the world?

MaizieD Tue 26-Sept-17 20:15:37

Perhaps he senses that he wouldn't be very welcome here, Tricia.

TriciaF Tue 26-Sept-17 19:44:48

I was just thinking today, of all the countries which are supposed to be Trump's main 'friends', the UK is the only one he hasn't visited.
Special relationship?

Funnily enough, I think that if they met, they would get on really well.?

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 19:16:04

How about some Kim pills at the same time.

whitewave Fri 22-Sept-17 18:23:54

Someone needs to step up Trumps pills - hopefully until he is asleep

whitewave Fri 22-Sept-17 18:22:50

Oh! God - now NK threatening to drop a bomb above the Pacific!

durhamjen Fri 22-Sept-17 17:59:03

Anyway, I didn't say I believed it, I said I'd read it.
It's in the i.
"In what some wags are likely to dub wishful thinking...."

durhamjen Fri 22-Sept-17 17:56:40

I'd rather believe that than that trump has just fired a nuclear missile at North Korea - or vice versa.

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 17:53:25

Do you believe everything that you read durhamjen ?
Must make for an anxious life.?

durhamjen Fri 22-Sept-17 15:18:59

I read today that trump is having drugs put in his drinks, just enough to slow him down, stop him thinking properly.
That could explain why he talks slowly and carefully to everyone as if they are idiots.

grumppa Fri 22-Sept-17 12:05:54

Trump a 'mentally deranged dotard', says Kim Jong Un (source: Huffington Post).

And for once I agree with him.
