Davis obviously cannot understand that the UK is a tiny little bit of the EU. He says they have to move to talks about the UK's future with the EU before they settle the divorce bill.
So May's big speech was all waffle and no substance.
Time the government grew up. But who is going to tell them so?

I didn't think a picture of Mr Darcy in his white shirt could be so contentious! I'll keep Colin Firth pictures for my own viewing pleasure in future

Colin Firth has done the right thing by taking Italian citizenship so he can be the same as his wife and children.
He can go to Italy on his Italian passport and move around without needing visas to go from one country to another.
He can live in Italy for three years, and then come back here with his British passport.
Sensible if you can afford it.

Europe cannot agree any form of privileged British access to its markets – even if we agree to follow every EU rule although no longer shaping them – while simultaneously allowing Britain to strike trade deals with the Anglo-American and Bric economies, the only ones that can begin to compensate for what we are losing. Britain would become a funnel for those economies to access the EU on the same privileged terms and for Europe to funnel goods and services back. It would mark the end of the single market and customs union, make a mockery of the EU’s global trade relationships and render it purposeless. It cannot happen. Britain has to choose: Europe or the rest of the world.
