A quote from an article by Nick Cohen in Saturday's (I think) Guardian

My phone isn't letting me do links - sorry! But try googling it if you are interested.

Maybe you should read the conversation all the time, instead of the Guardian.
The comments are always quite sensible.

Day6 Sat 23-Sept-17 10:21:06

You obviously do have me mixed up with someone else durhamjen.

durhamjen Sat 23-Sept-17 00:20:16

Nasty sneer, Day6?

Don't you usually read the Times or the Telegraph? Or have I got you mixed up with someone else?

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 23:40:05

Quite right Tegan2 tomorrow is another day.moon

Tegan2 Fri 22-Sept-17 23:25:29

Think things are getting too personal on here at the moment; just saying....

petra Fri 22-Sept-17 22:58:27

Maryeliza54
You consider lemon to be a heavy weight in the sneering game, come on, she couldn't hold a candle to a true Olympian that is the one and only ..............

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 22:57:40

You're no slouch yourself on that score Maryeliza54 and a lot of your posts seem to be permanently angry on any subject.

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Sept-17 22:48:27

Well lemon when it comes to sneering your posts show us all the way to go and petra why not just say durhamjen because that's who you mean?

petra Fri 22-Sept-17 22:34:02

lemongrove
It's a permanent state of being for one particular poster ( no names mentioned) wink

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 22:30:00

You could say the same thing about the left wing on here Maryeliza not many nuances from some, that's for sure.
Sneers seem very popular.

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 22:28:02

Oh but durhamjen does know everything Day6 what we read what we watch and what we listen to ( even though she doesn't know us from Adam)?I have christened her MI5.

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Sept-17 22:27:46

There's never any in between for the right wing on here is there? Read the Guardian, you support everything in it, support Corbyn/the Labour Party, you support everything they stand for. Surprisingly enough most us are much more nuanced and thoughtful in our views than that

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Sept-17 22:24:51

But the comments section of the Mail is all sweetness and light except for the nasty ones which of course are posted by the nasty left? How anyone thinks they can judge any paper by the comments left online is beyond me

Anniebach Fri 22-Sept-17 22:17:03

The abuse started when momentum got involved, threats of rape, abusive mails, abusive posts

Day6 Fri 22-Sept-17 22:14:41

dj - I think you are mixing up the Guardian with your usual reading.

What a nasty sneer.

No surprises there though. Pray tell, durhamjen, given you seem to know everything, what IS my usual reading?

Day6 Fri 22-Sept-17 22:11:48

Well you think wrong, durhamjen.

I assure you MaizieD. the comments sections of the Guardian are, if Labour policy is concerned, rife with abusive posts directed at anyone with a moderate view.

Still, there are none so blind as those who will not see, as the proverb goes.

The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know.

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 22:10:44

Day6 said 'on any day of the week' not 'on every day of the week' subtle difference.Try it on another day!

lemongrove Fri 22-Sept-17 22:09:04

The left wing fondness for The Guardian is touching, it is all round wonderful and can do no wrong ever ??

MaizieD Fri 22-Sept-17 22:02:55

I think that Day6 has found a fake Guardian site.

durhamjen Fri 22-Sept-17 20:36:06

I think you are fibbing, Day6.
I have just been reading the comments on May's speech articles, and not a single threat or insult.
I think you are mixing up the Guardian with your usual reading.

Day6 Fri 22-Sept-17 20:24:18

semi-literate

Day6 Fri 22-Sept-17 20:23:54

Could you post some links? I must have missed these.

Apologies. I refer to the readership and in particular the comments left on line by young (I imagine) Labour supporters. The language is coarse and threats and insults abound.

I suggest you read the comments sections on any day of the week. The abuse dished out to the 'bigots' who may hold different opinions isn't hard to spot. Much of it is semi-illiterate too. Times have changed. You might miss it, overlook it or excuse it if you are cheering them on I suppose.....

GracesGranMK2 Fri 22-Sept-17 20:18:59

Crumbs, what has happened to the Guardian - and how did I miss it. We want links please Day6.

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Sept-17 20:10:50

And if you want to really see Guardian readers revolting, just see what happens when there's a problem wth those crossword such as a misprinted clue. The crossword editor must still have the bruises from several years age when * they moved its position in thecpaper*

maryeliza54 Fri 22-Sept-17 20:08:30

Yep me too Day6 I do think your posts rather over-egg the pudding sometimes.
