Banks voice opinions about the impact of political leaders and political decisions - Goldman Sachs on Brexit, for example. JC needs to be able to take a bit of criticism.

Jeremy Corbyn has labelled the financial sector “speculators and gamblers who crashed our economy”, warning global banks that operate out of the City of London that he would be a “threat” to their business if he became prime minister.

It's about time we talked about the real place where the fault lies.

Sooo boring Primrose, poor man goes to that much effort to make a complete fool of himself , even bought his suit from M & S and banks are more important, the man is a threat to the country why concentrate on just the banks.

Interesting to hear the man from GQ on Today. Like so many of the press he sounded astonished, and a little theatrically miffed, that JC did not appear to know how to conform to what they required. He appeared not to know the last film he saw, or book he read or, of course, he chose not to get to that level with them. He wouldn't play their game either apparently when it came to his suit.

How refreshing that he has red lines about just how much, as a politician, he will trivialise himself. The great thing is he still managed to acquire a platform for the LP and they did not manage to manipulate (or understand) in the way that they have done with other politicians.

Jen - Loved Owen Jones comment even more than hearing the GQ man have his nose put out of joint.

Corbyn was being himself? His physical image has been manipulated as much as any other politician in his position.
He even has to choose the person who interviews him - GQ wanted Alistair Campbell but JC's gatekeepers refused. Perhaps they're worried the questions might be a bit too hard. Even someone viewed as a fan of Corbyn by his gatekeepers ended up with some interesting comments about him.

Not knowing simple things like who your business advisors are isn't endearing when you're an old man - it makes you look incompetent and past your sell-by date.
You just choose not to see it because it doesn't fit the narrative you've bought into.

I would imagine Corbyn has some nasty personal history with Alistair Campbell from the time Campbell was Blair's Rottweiler and Corbyn was trying to prevent an illegal war. Campbell certainly wasn't known then for his friendly and cooperative manner. As for Jones he's co-writer of a book about "Call me Dave". There may be just a little bias operating here.

I know he cowrote Dave's biography and is a Tory, as trisher states, but I don't know anything about his parents.

I think it's great that he chose a brand that's collapsed, has no strategy, is widely derided for being out of date and irrelevant on the high street.

Annie there are hundreds of thousands,maybe millions,of people in THIS country who were symapathetic to the IRA cause BUT who didn't agree with the methods in the 70's .we didn't agree with the troops being sent in to NI either OR the British governments attitude to NI ...which it seems hasn't changed.If THIS is a free country as we get told...then we are free to support whoever we feel is on OUR side of the fence and I am firmly for a united Ireland ,as were my parents and grandparents and GREAT grandparents .Doesn't make me a bad person.Corbyn wasn't party leader he was entitled to his views then and now ...and by the way...hes as far from a "communist" as Queen Lizzie is ,he left of centre and not far enough for a lot of OLD labour people I know
