Say durham? Why would I say anything at all about the utterings of Guido Fawkes? He isn't an elected MP. He isn't a member of the Labour Party. He isn't a person who has political and social influence for millions of LP party supporters. Clive Lewis is.

I find it quite touching that you're still vociferously defending his inappropriate remarks, especially as Corbyn The Great has personally condemned the remarks as being "completely unacceptable". Your devout loyalty must be stretched in all directions!

The word bitch is unlovely even when describing a female dog, but in any other context it's deeply unattractive and usually very insulting.

If you're referring to my reference to Guido Fawkes, then I'm perplexed. I first heard about Clive Lewis using inappropriate and offensive language via The Guardian, not Guido Fawkes. In fact, I rely on durham for Guido Fawkes links because I don't actually rank him as being a reliable or worthy news source. But durham follows him apparently and she posted her link about him and Diane Abbot.

And apparently you don't know (or don't care) that Guido Fawkes regularly uses the term 'bitch' about all sorts of people. But as you said why should you care about the utterings of Guido Fawkes? If you find such language offensive as you say, you really should!

You've really focused on Guido Fawkes haven't you? I repeat, I don't consider him a valid, or reputable, news source and only hear of his musings when durham posts them here. Had he been the only source of Clive Lewis's inappropriate language, I could understand your ire; but he wasn't. I repeat, I read it in the Guardian; a news source that I think has more gravitas than an online blogger. I don't give a rats who actually reported the CL story, trisher; I'm more bothered that this story had to be told in the first place.

Guido Fawkes' faux outrage at the use of the word "bitch" cannot be taken seriously, coming from someone who has frequently used the word himself and whose "joke" photograph of Diane Abbot and himself is lewd and distasteful in the extreme.

I don't recall there being that much outrage from Conservative Party supporters about this report relating to a Conservative member and former Conservative minister:

I'm not interested in the continued arguments between a few people here but I was interested to read (yes in the Guardian and on the B BC/Channel 4 news links on line) about the comments from Clive Lewis.
I was disappointed on a number of levels. A close friend was very distressed when his lover began to call him 'my bitch' in a derogatory manner. The relationship ended badly soon after. I'm aware some people use it ironically I wish CL hadn't said what he did, whatever the context.
I'm with Harriet and others who expressed distaste and disappointment. If that makes me an old fuddy duddy, I'll live more easily with that than the notion than CL has nothing to apologise for.

If you have read the article in the Guardian fully, Iam, you will have noticed that Clive Lewis apologised.
Therefore, non-story.

I haven't read through the post just the title,Is there a problem with anyone who accepts one invitation over another? Why should Jeremy Corbyn accept an invitation to a freinds of Israel event if he disgrees with Israeli foreign policy...or their treatment of the Palestinian people? I'm a socialist and I wouldn't attend any Israeli state events or anything that supports them.Isn't that just freedom of choice ..and even party leaders must be allowed that ...surely?

Paddyann, he doesn't believe in use of arms yet attended IRA events, called Hamas his friends . The Labour Friends of Israel are part of the Labour Party, Momentum is not.

Not forgetting his excuse for inviting the IRA leaders to Westminster was his belief ! that it is only by talking can we move forward. He said this was why he attended the Bobby Sands memorial .

As is stressed often by his devotees, he is the elected leader, should an elected leader not work with the whole of his party

anniebach Almost all, if not every, thread you start appears to be started for the sole purpose of having a go at Corbyn. You have repeatedly referred to his supposed "friendship" with Hamas, so I am again posting what you previously said about Corbyn and Hamas:

You insist on calling people who support Corbyn "devotees" or saying that they "worship" him or are "brainwashed". I, and other people, have already stated that they do not see Corbyn as infallible or support everything he does, but they feel he and the Labour Party are far preferable to what we have at the moment.

In my opinion, we have a government that is intent on destroying everything that has been achieved to make this society humane and civilised - wrecking our NHS, our education system and our welfare safety net for people who have fallen upon hard times. Why not concentrate some of your energies on that instead of trying to destroy the credibility of a party which is trying to reverse this devastation?
